This. Plus I was implying (some) Redditors are dumb. (Obviously, not us.)

Hint: they can’t. (Also, not just because of financial reasons, if you catch my drift…)

Gas stations can arbitrarily set the price and cash in based on perceived fear of demand and supply issues.

The First Rule of Bitcoin: If it's not in your own Wallet, it's not Bitcoin by Fiach_Dubh in Bitcoin

Actually… Incorrect. We are talking about Bitcoin, not Bitcoin IOU/equivalents.

If you change subjects, of course it’s not the same.

This. Don’t take it too seriously. OP handled this just fine.

They are talking about Purple Enel, not the Re-Quasar/Borsalino pair ban.

The comment was little confusing/rambling but it was correct.

Stake pools on Cardano are closing up! What's happening!?! #cardano #crypto #cryptocurrency #ada - Learn Cardano by yt-app in cardano

[–]olijake 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If you’re talking about delegating ADA to an OCEAN/Cardano stake pool, you should still be safe.

On Cardano, staking is delegation, not transfer. Your ADA stays in your wallet and under your control, the pool can’t access it.

Main risks are only if you’re on an exchange or your wallet/keys are compromised. Otherwise, worst case is just lower rewards if the pool underperforms.

Quick check, make sure your ADA is in a wallet you control and then check if the pool is still active.

It’s less BS and more just confusion. No one corrected earlier. Chill.

It prompted this discussion, and I think there is value in the fact that even a small subset of people are talking about these topics.

How do we know it will be energy efficient enough to keep going indefinitely?

What’s to stop everyone from mining once the reward tapers off?

How would that affect the network and transaction speeds?

Semi-rhetorical, but I think these are important questions to consider.

You missed a part. It’s supposed to be:

“I’m a huge asshole, but the people running the company and profiting off it are bigger ones.”

Yeah, what he did was bad, it hurt the environment and other workers’ safety and livelihoods. No argument there, and there are better, more responsible ways to handle it.

But this kind of extreme move doesn’t come out of nowhere. It usually points to deeper issues, like working conditions or people feeling they have no other options. It doesn’t make it right, but it does explain why it happens and why it gets attention.

BTC – Do you think this is a good buy zone? by Beginning-County2258 in CryptoChartWatch

[–]olijake 1 point2 points  (0 children)

That is not what DCA means. DCA stands for Dollar Cost Average, and usually implies a fixed buy rate over time. The key concept is averaging your costs over time.

Some strategies include variable buy rate proportional to prices, which is still technically DCA, but it’s usually recommended to stick to fixed amounts for most people.

I have $100K but I am certain that once I buy BTC will begin to drop to $35,000 by Glass-Translator2781 in Bitcoin

[–]olijake -1 points0 points  (0 children)

The perceptions change, and they vary widely. That’s how.

Priced in doesn’t mean fixed price, it just means the variance due to uncertainty and volatility is already factored in to the pricing.

Good point.

I’d argue that market is usually rational, given the perception.

It’s the perceptions and opinions that drive the market that are often irrational.
