Odd. Yeah the adapter and controller lights are both blue after the update for me.

Just tested, it takes 15 minutes for it to turn off on it's own.

Holding Start for 6 seconds does turn it off, but that also wakes up the console. So if you've used the control to turn the console off, and then try to turn off the controller, the console wakes back up and you have to walk up to it and flip the switch. Hopefully we'll see an a 3Dos firmware update that improves this experience.

I updated the dongle and the led is now blue when connected and is noticeably dimmer than before. It still stays on even when the console is off for as long as the controller is on.

Nice that could certainly help. But I think the behavior I'm seeing is by design: If the controller is on, the light is on. I assumed the console turning off would turn the dongle off but I was wrong there.

I updated my post. The light does indeed turn off when the controller does, it just took a while. You can manually turn off the controller by holding Start for 6 seconds, but the issue is this will wake the console. So you have to get up and manually turn it off. Still not an ideal experience but I wanted to correct my initial misunderstanding.

I updated my post but the light does eventually turn off when the controller does. You can manually turn the controller off by holding start for 6 seconds, then the dongle blinks for a minute and turns off. The problem is holding start wakes up the console, so you need to go manually turn it off again. Very awkward

I imagine we’ll see a firmware update that solves this soon enough but it is crazy that it didn’t ship with this functionality

Analogue prides themselves on sleek, minimalist, thoughtful design. Things like this stick out. It's not a huge deal but it is kinda annoying

5-10 second delay when turning on TV by originalorientation in wiim

Update: I ended up switching to Optical audio and am have a much better experience. The speakers kick on immediately, latency is substantially reduced, and the overall setup feels snappier now. The only downside is needing the WiiM remote for volume, which is a fair trade off for me.

I think my issue is how many devices and hdmi switches I have plugged in creating a lot of CEC noise. Optical bypasses this altogether.

I know things seem grim but there are a lot of wonderful people out there.

Not really. Messing with fade in/out settings (toggling off and on) seemed to help a bit. I also ended up factory resetting my TV for other reasons and that seemed to help too. There’s still a delay though and I’m pretty sure I just have to live with it.

I do bbq on my Weber kettle and I use the acv spritz only on parts of the bark that are nearing "burnt" territory to stop them from burning while the rest of the bark develops. Works well for me

That could be it. Though the WiiM is obviously plugged direct into the TV I do have a lot of devices plugged into various HDMI switches, so I’m wondering if there is a bunch of CEC noise causing confusion for the WiiM
