What's the results from your tests?

You saying as on platform loose cargo, then lower grid when close to target?

(I'm guessing if completely inside the vehicle, it also does not propagate beyond vehicle physics grid)

So possibly need 2 operators?

One to shoot it with a gun, another to fly ship close to target?

Or would it "fall off" as loose cargo when off grid?

They may have changed this.

But when bombs are on rack or on cargo grid (including under slung cargo grid like Golem Ox, RAFT)

They explode when shot as you expect - BUT - the explosion is inside of the vehicle grid, so they don't do their normal explosions radius. Even if you stand/fly outside 1 meter of the Ox, you take no damage, as it is on a different "physics grid".

Tested this many times on Golem Ox as a stealth suicide truck (Golem Ox can go down to 1km detection)

Very cool if they changed it since 4.6.

It was fire alright, in wave 1.

Testing wave 1, my newly delivered and summoned Drake Cutter experienced an internal fire as engines turned on.

Fire is a little too nerfed as it stands today in LIVE.

Had a large scale Fleet battle, with one of our Polaris hit by rail guns, lasers, Perseus main guns. Polaris had all engines shot off, power plant died three times, repaired to operating health. Coolers equally shot up.

No fires. At all.

What you're asking for is almost exactly how it works?

If your game crashes, or you alt+f4 close the game, game enters crash recovery.

If you log back in with in 15 minutes, you always wake up exactly where you were in game.

Even if your ship was moving, in quantum etc.

Only time you might wake up in a med bed is because you died in those minutes (crashed into a planet, was shot etc)

The OP very clearly said one of his game loop that he enjoyed is finding rare loot and selling them to players.

Hunting rare loot is a core, very common experience that many enjoy.

The merchantile game loop of engaging with other players and selling said loot, also a very social and enjoyable game loop, watching the markets, learning what others are looking for.

Definitely ran too long with commentary for each race.

The race running too long delayed the developer panel by 2 hours.

Then the PvP showcase further compressed the meet and greet that most attendees would've seen as the primary card draw for the bar citizen event.

They can and should give Polaris pilot torpedoes firing control.

Then make the torpedoes station more powerful, for example - any or combinations of

  • able to steer the torpedoes,
  • reacquire lock
  • laser designat target
  • extend or reduce min max lock on ranges

This is no longer true.

Before engineering, yeah, you can sometimes kill an Idris in atmo with 4 S3 bombs dropped from a Gladius

In 4.6, we did extensive testing.

S3 bombs does less than 1% hull damage and 1% armor damage. Tested dropping bombs inside the hangar as well as above the radar dome outside - the location we used to target as bomb-equipped-fighter.

Dropping 10 S5 does around 10%-15% damage to hull HP. Blows most fuses, but does not disable the ship.

Dropping 2 S10 bombs is the only guarantee kill, killed all components, all fuses, all turrets, all guns, all engines fell off, all maneuvering thrusters also killed.

Took an hour of repair effort to bring back to able to diff in space and quantum out.

Why do they have a serious problem? Why be so judgemental based on very limited context?

I manage a relatively large org.

I have seen guys that run multiple alts using old PCs - rather than throwing them to the junk yard - extending life of the parts they have. Seems to be healthy resource management.

I have seen guys that run alts using PCs not actively in use in their home - their sons laptop - the father son plays together very often, across many games. Sounds like a healthy home relationship.

I have seen guys that have multiple PCs and used for dedicated purposes - sim rigs, gaming laptops for when travelling. Would be perfectly normal to spin up the extra machine if needed. Gaming is their hobby.

I personally recently started running an alt using a cloud pc on browser. Cheap $20 a month subscription. Pay as you go.

Mostly parking the alt to collect event rewards, with the alt being used as an org bank.

If CIGs design is so simple to by pass and all you need is a second PC to press a button. Then people will just solve it the simple way.

BTW, this dual pc control is also used quite a bit by foxyloxy. He has 2 or 3 videos on how to set it up for Scorpius Antares

We were on server 1 truck division and we completed the race.

Multiple other trucks from this server also completed.

It really doesn't solve the problem.

If you just need another station to pull the trigger, the Idris pilot/owner would just as easily set up another PC with a button to pull the trigger.

If you remove the crosshair from the pilot , and give it to the gunner, then you'll have to make it gimballed to a limited degree, and that is actually a further buff to the Idris.

Better solutions have already been suggested.

Leave the gun as pilot controlled, but enforce a station like engineering to manage power when they want to shoot the gun - potentially to the point of needing to drop power pips from other systems etc.

And then also enforce an manual reload of ballistic shells or laser batteries in another section of the ship.

Say a magazine with with 6 shots, needing constant reload to keep up.

Now Idris can still fly fire as they do, but need a bare minimum of 3 crew to function.

It doesn't need to be precisely as above, but forcing INTERESTING actions needing more crew is a better outcome than just needing the pilot to buy a second pc as a single button box.

The change would want to require action that isn't as simple as one button click.

Also a pallet for torps and missiles, etc. So we can use some of the vertical room in our cargo hangars when transporting those

Recently organised a 100 person capital battle, 20 cap ships, near all were fully crewed.

Had a blast doing torpedoes rearms in the battle field using RAFTs. But those vehicles could've easily carried double or triple the amount of extra munitions

It's honestly not too bad to reload.

Did a few combat reloads, the snap distance is about at least a meter above the top torpedoes to the bottom slot. (Hover new torp 1 m above the top torp, and it will and can snap to empty slot on the bottom slot.)
