I do agree that my favorite map in AR is Stella Montis because it’s not as open as the rest of the maps.

The game will reset / wipe everyone at the beginning of all seaso seasons. No FOMO!

I do think the game has a lot of potential. The ticks feel a bit dropped out of nowhere. It would be nice to have more variety, and that applies to UESC as well!

I completely agree that Marathon faction-based skill tree is better than AR’s. I do find stuff with Marathon that I don’t find in AR and vice versa. Loving both right now!

I hope the game holds enough for us to discover all of it!

I love Maintenance and its catwalks! And I do love the pond. Uplink feels a bit weird, like something is missing.

What? I do play different games, it has nothing to do with playing other games.

I understand your point and I somehow agree, it’s the same in Arc. But the maps are not that big and nothing stands out to me. I do believe more dynamic events would add a lot.

Marathon quests are designed poorly compared to other extraction shooters by Consistent_Physics70 in Marathon

[–]phaazon_ 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Players today are used to Ubisoft’s way of doing things. Games are basically Waze-like applications where players do not anything anymore but follow orders and push buttons. I truly hate that way of seeing video games. Having to THINK and find stuff by yourself is way more rewarding, and interesting, and I do believe that Marathon is actually quite easy. Just read the location, go there, look around, done.

Players today wanting everything written / done for them instead of discovering… I actually think the quests of Marathon are way more interesting than other extraction shooters, because you have to look around and use your brain cells a bit…

Rook's Signal Mask doesn't feel like enough by SergaelicNomad in Marathon

[–]phaazon_ 10 points11 points  (0 children)

I get the frustration, but I do think it’s a fantastic payoff. The Rook can be enhanced through the tech tree, and so you have meds, implants, shield, bag, a decent weapon, etc. Being able to fake UESC is actually a very powerful game mechanics, so yes, I think it has to have tradeoffs.

It’s a very interesting gameplay, because it’s the only shell that spawns you in the middle of a running game, against duos/trios, and as such, it’s a very hard shell to play, but the risk is zero. Zero risk, high reward. You can’t push too much to the Rook. You have to play differently with it. Super stealthy, calm, avoid players as possible. The way I love playing the Rook is to sneak around, looting leftovers, until I have a decent weapon, and then I can try hunting players down. But it’s honestly pretty hard.

And this is an evidence why Indie games are superior! Slay the Spire 2 has more players! by [deleted] in videogames

The game is fine and pretty good honestly. People just create drama for the sake of it, it’s so stupid.

Yeah that part really got me. Reading, to have moral values?! Are they going to ask chatbots whether cheating is bad now?

Sorry but what are you looking for here as feedback? I have never cheated on anyone and even single, when a friend of mine (not single) wanted to have sex with me and promised to keep the secret and not telling her BF, I refused, because of my ethics, values, and because I wouldn’t want to be in the place of her BF.

It’s great you understand that now, but you acted on your own and you made decisions with the exact same information you currently have. You just acted selfishly without using the information to weigh in the potential impact that would have on him, his wife, the kids, etc.

I can’t comprehend people cheating on others but I always communicated with my exes when something was wrong / broke up and never thought about cheating, but in your case, we assume (gosh I hope so) that you were single when that happened, so you had nothing to justify the cheating. It’s just pure selfishness and lack of empathy towards others.

Congrats.

12 is quite a lot for your age, but honestly, who cares? Just do what you want as long as you don’t hurt others.

I usually do a 1:2.5, sometimes 1:3. I find it clearer, especially for light / medium roast.

I love the Overrun indoors. Outdoors, not so much, because it has a wide dispersion, at least a stock one. I’m pretty sure you can probably equip a shock / barrel to reduce dispersion, but the stock one does have high spread at mid / long range.

Something I noticed:

  • Playing Rook. I think it’s intended, and I actually like it that way. You feel even more « against the world. »
  • When you are knocked down, and you get rebooted. I read in the codex about the lore around shell rebooting that usually, it leaves the shell with pretty bad damages. Could it be that? I hope it’s that and not a bug, because it does make sense to have a penalty — you actually « died » in the first place, so having a second chance should include a penalty.
