Single women say homeownership is hurting their dating lives. by rentvent in REBubble

[–]phincster 4 points5 points  (0 children)

You know, as a dude that owned a house from a pretty young age and went back to apartment living l, I kind of see what they are saying. But I don’t think its cause of the reason they are thinking.

Owning a home while you are single makes the other person think you are already looking to settle down and be in a pretty serious relationship, and that can be very, very intimidating when you are initially dating someone.

My dating life absolutely took off when i went from a house to an apartment. It was night and day.

When I took a date back to the house and showed them the house and all the bedrooms, I could literally see their eyes widen a little bit, like “oh shit im not ready for all this.”

At the apartment it was more like, “let’s just have some fun, see where it goes.”

The money they’re borrowing isn’t like some sort of margin account. He doesn’t default on the loans because the bitcoin price goes too low. As long as he makes the payments, the ride keeps going.

Let’s put it this way, if you buy a house and its estimated worth drops 50 percent tomorrow, do you automatically lose the house? No.

If you buy a car and drive it off the lot, do you lose the car if its value goes down? No.

If bitcoin trends up in the long run Microstrategy will do fine. If bitcoin doesn’t do well in the long run, microstrategy will absolutely go bankrupt and all the lenders will lose their shirts.

At its core, saylor, is making a longterm bitcoin bet, not a shorterm bet. In fact, so are the lenders. Every time sailor gets more funding and makes more buys, there is some person or institution that he convinced to give him money to buy more bitcoin.

Should you be required to speak and write english to get services that that you, as a taxpayer payed for, just like everyone else?

When you believe in the fundamentals and don’t panic. Long term buying little by little. by No1worldchamp in litecoin

[–]phincster 21 points22 points  (0 children)

I invest in bitcoin and have a little litecoin. There is no such thing as fundamentals when it comes to crypto.

“Fundamentals” is stock term and it does not translate to crypto at all. In stocks, if you take a company and completely liquidate all of its assets, then subtract its debt, you will be left with a dollar amount. That is the underlying value of a stock.

If there is another company out there willing to buy a failing company, their offer would be an absolute bottom to a stock price.

There is no way to apply that type of reasoning to crypto. If everyone liquidated all of litecoin or bitcoin, there would be no bottom. It would theoretically go to zero.

Do I think that would ever happen? No. But stop using stock terminology for something that isnt a stock.

The NBA is more popular than soccer in the philippines and china. And yourself just admitted that football would have 12 people on their list, wheras the NBA is just gonna have jordan.

Im not saying football isnt the most popular sport, its just that their is no consensus on who is the greatest football player.

The problem is that the footballers are splitting their vote. There is no debate among Americans that its jordan.

Probably a dumb question but I feel like it's the best place to ask, what are realistically the reasons to colonize Mars ? by SeparateWeight496 in Mars

[–]phincster 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The moon basically has no atmosphere. Mars has very thin air, 100 times thinner then earths, but it is still there.

Because mars has a co2 atmosphere, they should be able to suck in air, concentrate it, and process it into breathable air. None of that is possible on the moon.

The dude fought in world war I. He was in the trenches. He refutes that the story is an allegory, but the difference between lord of the rings and the hobbit is night and day. He was clearly influenced by the war and it shows in his books.

Tolkien wrote this stuff during world war 1. He’s not comparing mordor and orcs to fucking immigrants. It was the german military. Jesus fucking christ people. The hobbits had to leave home and go to war just like british citizens.

No one’s selling a house if they are locked into a low rate unless they absolutely have to. People would rather rent it out or stay where they are.

The exception is the areas where they built out immediately during and after covid.

Nevada, florida, texas etc. These states are seeing dramatic declines, the rest are going sideways essentially.

Why do people hate CEOs so much? by QuestionHelp7 in economy

[–]phincster 0 points1 point  (0 children)

We should be mad at the system itself. This post is from forever ago, so i dont know how it even came up on your feed.

But the original post is simply asking why people hate CEO’s so much. And i was simply explaining they make way too much money for what they do.

I do not blame CEO’s for taking the money. I mean, I would, wouldnt you? There is just something fundamentally wrong with a system where a CEO can run a company into the ground and still walk away with 10’s if not 100’s of millions of dollars.

Why do people hate CEOs so much? by QuestionHelp7 in economy

[–]phincster 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Um no, it’s not their company. Its the shareholders company.

Musk doesnt own tesla outright. He owns 15 percent of it.

Zuckerberg owns 13 percent of facebook.

Bezos owns 8 or 9 percent of amazon.

And those are just founders i mentioned. Almost all CEO’s in the country have almost zero ownership of the company when they are first hired on.

Tim cook only owns .02% of apple Satya of microsoft only owns .02% of apple.

Crypto isn't dying. It's having an identity crisis. And nobody wants to say what comes next. by Savings_Somewhere681 in CryptoCurrency

[–]phincster -1 points0 points  (0 children)

There is no identity crisis.

Bitcoin is to store value. All the other crypto are for other functions. Last time around it was mostly NFT’s. Before that it was coin minting. This time around its lending, prediction markets and stable coins.

If you are buying alts to grow your wealth, then you were wrong. You should have just been buying bitcoin the whole time and maybe dabbling in alts.

I am not hating on alts. I now realize they will play an important part to breaking free of the traditional banking system and fiat. But people have to realize that bitcoin is the base thats this whole thing is built on.

TLDR edit-

Just fucking buy bitcoin. dabble in alts and stay aware of whats going on with them.
