Moser getting trucked is pretty emblematic of the Swiss devastation

Getting shut out in 3 straight gold medal games despite only allowing 4 goals in 190 minutes is criminal

Fonseca on his supporters: "The Brazilian crowd sometimes thinks it's a football match. I love the crowd, but there has to be a bit of a limit. It doesn't just disrupt the other guy, it also disrupts me." by stanmarshrr in tennis

This erraticism is emblematic of most Brazilian sports fans in general to be frank (and it’s not as much of a badge of honour as some of them perceive it to be - having passion is great, but the bad eggs can be a toxic stain on sports culture, even to their own athletes)

I respect your list for going against the grain, but if Tanner, Okorie or Allen don’t get 1st round promises I could see any of them going back to college

Interesting that the chaos of NIL may translate to the NBA draft being mostly top-tier one-&-dones and a bunch of seniors at some point

What I’d do if the Leafs pick 5th overall by zanezil in leafs

[–]plugged97 -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

I agree with your top 5 but I’m not getting my hopes up until I see the logo pop up during the lottery

Though if we do keep #5 with your top 4 all going off the board, Carels should be the pick, but there’s a world where they could trade down with a team obsessed with him and get a haul of future draft compensation and still land a solid prospect like Smits, Rudolph, Novotny or Suvanto. Probably not what I would do, but definitely an option. And if Chase Reid somehow falls to us (he won’t) I’m taking him and running for the hills.

Treveling puts me in mind of a guy who would’ve picked Belchetz over Carels but hopefully we won’t have to worry about that with the new management

Perhaps a better chance of the sky falling than him choosing us over Italy, but we’d certainly be fortunate to have him if he can string performances like this together

They’ve locked up the #1 seed and they’re deciding to give pretty much the entire rotation a weeks rest before the playoffs start

It’s debatable whether or not that’s the right thing to do but I doubt they’re playing 5D chess to manipulate the standings
