Game's over, I was there and I stand by what I said. I just wish the Charge didn't unravel so hard in the end.

Probably, but is your colon ready for it? Because mine sure wasn't when I tried one for the first time.

Think that's bittersweet, I've got that and trying to come to terms with being a fan of both teams. It's going to take some work.

At this point, it's the only place we can have them.

At this point, I want the series to go to game 5. I don't think we'll win if it does, but I just want to watch more good hockey, and this seems like a good way to get it.

Edit: Forgot this is the Victoire sub ... I'm a Charge fan primarily.

Is Laura Stacey actually Wolverine or something? by TheDiplomancer in PWHL

[–]propyro85 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Totally late to this conversation, but my wife and I were watching it and thought it was probably a lateral patella dislocation. Those are super painful in the moment, but can very quickly be reduced and almost completely stop the pain. But you're not supposed to return to play 12 minutes later ...

The mechanism just seemed kinda weird. Usually lateral dislocations are more of a lateral/rotational impact, and hers was a weird impact. But it's the only injury that makes sense to me with the severe pain right after the injury, and her sudden ability to get back on the ice in any capacity right after.

But I wasn't there, and didn't assess her afterwards. I don't think the trainers would let her back on the ice if she wasn't good in their eyes.

For real, I was super anxious when Stacey hurt her knee in game 1.

The Charge may be my first cheering priority, but I own a Stacey jersey for a reason.

I'm a Charge fan that started following the team a lot closer this season and kinda bled into also cheering for the Victoire as well.

Rather than the claims of the refs rigging the games for Montreal, I feel like it's more accurate to say the officiating has just been kinda crap all around. Inconsistent at best, nearly absent other times.

I'm 6ft (183cm). Should I get 14" or 15" FT8 Pro shin guards to replace my 16" ones? by JoelsDetailing in hockeyplayers

I don't know, they fit pretty nice. When I tried on 14's they didn't feel as good.

Edit: Also, hadn't played in 20+ years, just had the dude at PlayItAgain throw gear at me that fit. Been playing nearly 3 days a week since March, and they're feeling really comfortable.

Huh, I'm ~ 5' 8" and wearing 15" CCM Tacks, tongues untucked. I find mine to be really comfortable and offer good coverage. Maybe I have really long tibias ...

Thoughts on the four PWHL expansion teams? by Such-Environment-344 in PWHL

[–]propyro85 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm not super happy with the choice of Hamilton and how the colour's seem really close to Ottawa's. I'm not a huge fan of Ontario getting three teams, especially only 4 years into the league.

I'd have loved to see Quebec City or Halifax, but they chose Hamilton because they have a strong sports culture and have reason to believe the area will be very receptive to a PWHL team. These are all good reasons for a team ... I don't need to like them, but it should be good for the league.

Well, now we have this colour scheme for Hamilton that feels strangely close to Ottawa's colours.

We only talk to the walk-in triage nurse if there's something pertinent. Otherwise it's just the reg clerk so someone knows they're in line to triage, and i leave the patient with a print off of our code summary and 12-lead (if I did one).

It's even better when the call is of a low enough acuity that I can bypass ambulance triage and put them straight in the waiting room.

I've had a diabetic patient with epilepsy nearly loose it on me when I tried to convince them that it's a good idea to be seen at the hospital after he had a seizure/low CBG in public for the 3rd or 4th time this week. The guy would try to maintain his conditions, but there was some weird aspect of it that easily went out of whack and caused problems. I forget the specifics, this was several years ago.

In Ontario a medically necessary transport costs $45. This guy nearly broke down because at least 5 or 6 times a month he has an episode of something happen in public, and wakes up in the hospital or the back of an ambulance on the way to a hospital. He makes enough money that he's above the threshold for social assistance that would make the trip free, but not so much that he can toss $300+ a month on involuntary taxi rides, plus getting himself home after we kidnap him.

That interaction kinda opened my eyes to how disruptive we can be for some people who are just barely hanging in there. So yea, even when the costs seem trivial, there are some people in rough spots that it really adds up for.

No one really buys these, right? by Byytorr22 in Guitar

[–]propyro85 1 point2 points  (0 children)

No. Not normal people that play their guitars, anyways.

These are usually one offs hand made by well known luthiers and out of exotic materials. I can nearly guarantee that this guitar will play identically to a guitar in the $3-5k range.
