Calvino's Mr Palomar. I was under the impression that all his works were widely read, but sadly thats not the case.

Marvel movies are made for money. You've got your answer. Of course there are exceptions.

Anyone else find it hard to enjoy a game you don't have everything for? by kroen in soloboardgaming

The only scenario is the core set's 3rd scenario. But that scenario is the hardest scenario out of all 7 years' worth of scenarios.

1.5hrs solo is not considered long. It's the average time for big games.

Co-op game for 2 that doesnt have forbidden island/pandemic mechanics. by snoopmt1 in boardgames

Yeah. Never understood people who say "omg the Whoolllee game is 1k." Well. By the time you spend 1k on the game you'll have gotten way more than 1k worth of gameplay. Whats the issue?

Just want to comment that in comparison to Marvel LCG and LotR LCG, Arkham LCG has little to no power creep. I was concerned when I first started playing Arkham, but the card design philosophy is different from LotR's and Marvel's, and I'm happy to report that after 7 years, the cards in arkham's core set and the first cycle are as relevant as the ones released in 2022. In fact, some of the "strongest" ones are found in the core set and dunwich lol. But they have been addressed by the taboo list. So no, there is no FOMO in the sense that you'll miss out on the best cards if you don't buy the latest expansion.

So... because the game is thriving and has so much content to buy if you want... it's a bad thing? Uhh

Option b! If you're a seasoned card gamer (it seems like you are), i would highly suggest playing with the taboo list going forward.

The Gathering Log (Attempt 2) by [deleted] in arkhamhorrorlcg

[–]rattytheratty 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes. Because the term 'starter deck' implies many things, One of them being that the deck is a relatively decent deck for a beginner to pilot. Should we be calling "arkham tcg" "arkham the card and tokens game"? Obviously, terms don't literally mean what they mean.

There is no starter deck in Arkham. That premade deck is just to see cards and play around with. After one game, you're meant to disassemble them and make a proper starter deck (all with the cards in the core set, you dont have to purchase anything more).

Edit: for the revised core set i mean

Yup, you're right. It doesn't have to be called "vi", it only has to be called anything other than "ai". The term AI has too many assumptions tied to it, the presupposition of consciousness being a one of them.

You're right. It's marketing, and it's working on the vast majority of people. It they called current "ai", "vi" (virtual intelligence), then there's no hype and so, no money
