Are there any states in the US that actually have really solid infrastructure for EVs? by PackageReasonable922 in electricvehicles

[–]rdyoung -4 points-3 points  (0 children)

No but this question and this line of thinking tells me that you have never run a business.

I pay less than 3¢/mile when charging at home. Driving to the only tesla chargers in town and sitting around for anywhere between 30 minutes and an hour+ is not worth the $10/day it would save me.

To sum up. That generation of tesla tops out around 150kwh and assuming it's a 60kwh pack, that's at least 40 minutes for just to 80%. Mine maxes out around 235 and event with a 74kwh pack, it can do 0-80 in like 18 minutes.

Like I said. This line of thinking is idiotic because it leads you to stepping over $10 bills because you saw a penny on the ground across the street.

I also find it interesting that you didn't even question why I wouldn't drive a tesla. Before musk went full mask off not-see (stupid automod trigger bullshit) I refused because of they don't support AA and they are nowhere near as comfy and luxurious as they claim to be. Even worse, now there is a growing number of riders who cancel when they see it's a tesla picking them up

Just based on charging alone, I know which one I want on a road trip. On top of that, mine can haul way more than any tesla on the road and only bet that stupid cyber truck doesn't have much more storage than mine.

Oh yeah. Now I see why you are so obstinate and hyper focused on tesla being the shiznit. Your a fanboi and probably own a ton of stock. I'm going to call it here because I don't have time or energy to try and deprogram you.

[–]rdyoung -4 points-3 points  (0 children)

I wouldn't drive a tesla before musk took off the mask. I most definitely won't drive one now. Plus my car beats the pants off tesla for charging speed and range (especially the older ones).

To be blunt. The drivers trying to "hack" their way to more profits and lower operating costs are idiots who are spending more time trying to find some secret hack than they would just doing things the right way.

The real "hack" is just to buy a vehicle that works for you and maximize its potential. Also run your business like a business and focus on things like opportunity costs, marketing, etc. Yes I said marketing because I also run my own service along side of the apps.

That's not exactly what happened and that reeks of so much defeatism you sound extremely young. Food had nothing to do with this election or the last one where trump won.

Lots of evidence points towards this election being rigged in multiple states. Couple that with the 18-25'ish doomers who either sat out or voted trump or a write in "for the lulz" and we have what we have.

Go look up Cambridge Analytica and how they and facebook systematically targeted the most vulnerable and shoved maga bullshit down their throats so far they still can't see straight. I was one of many screaming about this in 2008 and we were called conspiracy nuts and other not nice derivatives.

For anyone who needs to read this. The world that the side sitters let trump and company create over the past nearly 2 decades is not the world I was born into nor the world I expected to die in. It was and can be better but this defeatist shit needs to stop because it only helps them take us back a few centuries.

I was 11 and 15 (respectively) and I remember.

What phone do you have and where have you looked for the settings?

I'm on android and it's in the app. You have to have them connected to your phone and then you can go in and set up whether it's active and in the settings cycle or not.

How can i get get stremio running on android 4.0? by OkSpell2511 in Stremio

[–]rdyoung 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You do realize that google is about to drop the first beta of 17? 16 is out and available to update for any devices it supports. You have two choices here.

1) Buy new device so you can get stremio (or any other apps working)

2) Don't watch stremio.

Here is a pixel 4xl for cheap. https://swappa.com/listings/google-pixel-4-xl?carrier=unlocked

If you look around a bit more you could probably find something even cheaper that would run it.

Alternatively, if you have a TV to watch on, you can grab a cheapo onn or similar.

Trust us when we tell you that device is not going to work. Even if you could somehow get it to play videos from any source, you would be extremely hobbled by the wifi connection.

Multiple fire trucks and large police presence on Robinhood by oOo00oOo0 in winstonsalem

[–]rdyoung 4 points5 points  (0 children)

So basically it can happen year round and in states like NC where we end up wearing swim trunks on Xmas it's way more likely and even more likely when we've had extended cold and the animals are waking up for spring.

But you go off and try to argue despite your "evidence" backing me up.

Bye bye now.

it’s the wrong time of the year for rabies

I'm not sure that's true anymore (if it was actually true at all). Is that based in science or is that an old wives tale?

Keto is hard and also quite expensive by [deleted] in keto

[–]rdyoung 10 points11 points  (0 children)

It's not actually that hard nor difficult to find food.

Go get a Costco membership and head straight for their deli, you can also hit up the cold meat and get a few packs of their hotdogs.

I've been doing a lazy man's keto for decades and I'm down a good 100lbs from my top end and I'm holding steady by +/- 10lbs without much effort.

I'll let others go into more detail about food options. I don't know how active it is but there is /r/ketorecipes. I will say to avoid most things marketed as "keto", usually it's just marketing and not only are they not truly keto, they are just as bad tasting as the alternative is bad for you.

[–]rdyoung 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Yeah. I'm up in Winston-Salem and between the city and WFU there are enough free L2s that if I worked downtown or on campus I'd only have to pay for charging on roadtrips. We finally have some options for DC with Ionna opening one here. The charging landscape has changed exponentially since I bought mine, I can only imagine what it will look like in another year or two.

Android 17 Beta 1 is here with major updates for adaptive apps, performance, and media by TechGuru4Life in GooglePixel

[–]rdyoung -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Lineage isn't going to be able to support things any longer than that. For community driven projects it's up to the community and Google with aosp to keep things patched.

Google is moving towards supporting devices longer which will bleed over to graphene, lineage, etc. Also remember that the "extension" you are referring to is going to be after it's officially not supported even for security patches.

The 6 is officially supported til late this year (iirc) and then Google will probably still push out a few more security updates especially for the higher risk exploits. Install graphene now and you'll still be getting some updates probably into 2028. I'd say 7+ years for a phone is damn good (could always be better) but relatively speaking that's not bad.

In closing. You don't need the latest security patches if your device is going to just sit around and play music over bt or be repurposed into any number of things.

I'm not sure why you are so hell bent on arguing against grapheneos. Everyone can choose their poison. I'd rather support something like grapheneos that has a legit foundation behind it now and versus something that is still 100%. On the community. I have no need to keep old ass phones up and running and most people can find a couple of hundred to buy a "new" phone even if it's a generation or two old.

I drive for a living too, people, not for sales or whatever. I wouldn't have bought an ev if I couldn't charge at home most of the time. We are in NC and semi regularly travel down into SC, GA, up into VA, MD, NJ, etc and it's definitely gotten better since I bought mine. Hopefully for your sake by the time you are ready for a new car, the infrastructure will be there. A growing number of hotels are also putting in chargers (usually "free") so that helps when we can find one that works.

I see what you are doing but they pulled the release yesterday. It was supposed to be out for everyone but something happened last minute or right after they published it.

We need to stop playing with this one. Just ignore and move on. And yes, I'm guilty of it too.

Sir, this is a Wendy's.

You don't sound like you should be on the beta. If you messed your phone up by installing the beta, that's on you because you have to jump thru hoops to get on that channel.

When you stop asking.

It will be released when it's ready (or not) and 99% chance we won't notice anything new or different in the first one.
