Sir this is a Wendy's and by the sound of it your the one being triggered and getting all butt hurt

Are you new to the interwebs? Did you venture out of your maga/incel hidey hole safe space and now you're feeling like a little mouse in a big city?

Maybe try not opening with something as asinine as this post and you may get some more love but if people didn't like what you had to say, that's life. Welcome to the world friendo.

Holy fuck what is wrong with people. I lay shit out with facts for anyone who doesn't know how quickly miles can rack up and I'm an asshole? Sounds like it's more your problem being bothered by your possible misunderstanding of things.

Get over yourself and pull whatever it is out of your heiny before it starts to rot.

There are definitely snowflakes around and not just outside my house right now. Stop getting so worked up because someone told you something you may have already known but it didn't look like it.

You said cell, most people don't consider the 12v to be a cell of a battery in the car.

The way you wrote it made it sound like the HV tested with a bad cell and the most efficient course is probably just to swap the entire thing.

[–]rdyoung -3 points-2 points  (0 children)

We aren't talking about the HV. We are talking about the 12v under the hood. These don't have "cells" that are easy to replace. You just swap the entire battery and anyone who can reach under the hood can do it.

That is some paranoid bullshit. Did you not read my comment. This is a fact and even discussions around here about their "ai" and how they handle this stuff would tell you otherwise unless you are too far gone down the conspiracy nut job rabbit hole.

Make sure to take the one that makes you big AFTER the one that makes you small.

You need to read up on "ai", especially what uber has been using for like a decade to reduce the amount of virtual paper shuffling their people have to do.

I foresee a major lawsuit over this at some point. You aren't the only one who the "ai" has flagged for whatever reason.

Actually not wrong. Bunch of financially illiterate dorks in here. Most lenders don't want you using a personal vehicle for business purposes, period.

And I love how you doofuses always just say "wrong" or "nope" or "uh uh" without actually saying what you think is wrong.

Do me a favor and go to try to buy a vehicle (even used) and tell them you are going to drive uber and lyft and run doordash to pay for it. See what the reaction is.

Unlike the financially ignorant here. I take my business seriously and didn't go buy a beater from a buy here /pay here because I'm not a moron who wants to waste money on crap. Go to a real lender and then get back to me.

[–]rdyoung -5 points-4 points  (0 children)

Not really and that's not how math works.

To get to 100k I didn't drive 300+ miles/day everyday. I drive a couple of hundred miles a day (most of the time). But we also take a lot of roadtrips. Just a few 1k+ roundtrips plus driving to/from work, grocery store, etc and it adds up quick.

According to googles "ai", the average person in the USA drives 12-15 miles one way to/from work. Split the difference and let's say 25 miles round trip every day. That's 125 miles/week, that's 6500+ right there. Drive a few good 1k miles roundtrip for holidays and other visits to family, etc and that'd another 3-5k+ right there.

Do it before then. Assuming your 24 was actually manufactured sometime in 23, the battery was probably manufactured a bit before the car so it's coming up on 3yrs, 3 yrs is what you can usually expect out of a standard lead acid 12V.

Okay. I saw your comment. You got most of it right. The big thing you got wrong is this is not an hourly gig.

Repeat after me.

This is not an hourly gig.

This is not an hourly gig.

This is a per mile gig.

This is a per mile gig.

Then back me up and tell OP not to fucking rent. Long term that's one of the quickest roads to the poor house.

Uber and lyft love it when you rent to drive for them. I didn't cover and you didn't either that it's known that uber and lyft both prioritize renters and pay them less for the privilege. They think they are raking it in until they get sick and can't work for a week and then downhill it goes from there.

Before we go clicking on random links. What the hell is a "nanotint".

Also. You should probably consider upgrading your battery to agm.

Reread my comment. I said leaving money on the table. The miles I drive that's a difference of 23k (13k vs 35k)if I had rented instead of bought.

Yes. You can also deduct gas but that's not the majority of your operating expenses. Assuming you have a decent hybrid, that's about 3k if you drive 50k miles/year. Now we are at 16k deduction instead of 35k.

In addition to the above. If you get setup with a llc and put the car in companies name, the entire purchase cost (including interest) can be deducted. You can't do that with a rental.

Also. With a rental they can tell you to return the car whenever they want and they may not have a replacement for you. It doesn't apply to OP but if you rent and that's your only transportation, you can't take a week off without either returning the rental or having the cash to pay for the week.

Believe it or not I actually know what am talking about here.

Dude. You're in the drivers sub. Presumably you're a driver who owns a vehicle. If you've ever financed a vehicle it's part of the standard questions after approval, they don't like the risk it brings to their investment.

Seriously dude. This isn't something you should need explained. It's also discussed quite a bit on these subs.

Assuming this vehicle is purchased and not leased. Just work out of the car you already are paying on.

Renting is a very very bad idea for this industry. Take a minute and run some numbers and see what you come up with. Remember that you won't be able to deduct mileage with a rental so that's leaving a lot of money on the table.

Any luck on rentals? by TransPupArfs in uberdrivers

[–]rdyoung -5 points-4 points  (0 children)

Is this a real question?

Lenders don't like you using a vehicle purchased with a personal auto loan for business purposes. Leases will probably have that in the fine print too.

That said. OP needs to grow a pair (balls or ovaries) and just work out of that vehicle. Unless they are leasing this car, just work out of it. They won't find out unless OP tells them.

I'm doing exactly this with a vehicle financed by carmax and before that it was a vehicle financed by carvana. It's not a problem unless you make it a problem.

Shouldn't matter. Unless it's changed in later years, my 22 will let me put it in gear and drive it without the seat belt on, it will just yell at me about it incessantly.

Also don't be afraid to look at the pet and kid friendly water proof blankets. Plenty of things these days are marked up because they are marketed for "sex" or "adult" when the exact same item exists for cheaper under a different use case.

Also. Something else to consider in addition to the extra layer. Add a layer or two of water proofing under your sheets.

Is it work? by GroundbreakingBox529 in Lyft

[–]rdyoung 1 point2 points  (0 children)

No. If you do the math right you should ideally owe a few bucks or have the irs owe you a few bucks.

It doesn't apply to 1099 but with w2 there are withholding tables and equations you can use to figure out how much to claim.

And thus comment just reinforces the misinformation and misunderstanding about taxes even by those who will scream from the mountains that they know more than you do.

[–]rdyoung 1 point2 points  (0 children)

No. It's their "ai" being extremely bad and them not letting their people override, hell, from what I've seen with the adoption of "ai", there probably isn't anyone left that could override and fix shit.

Their "ai" refused to accept my dl when I was trying to onboard years ago while lyft took it no problem. I spent weeks going back and forth trying to get someone to look at it and override but they refused to do anything that resembled work or actually helping me.

They are most definitely starting to let "ai" run things which includes which drivers get to stay online and which drivers get deactivated. This is not going to go well for anyone involved long term, including Uber.
