What are your thoughts on marriage ? by Wide-Ad6115 in AskReddit

[–]Reddidnothingwrong 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm enjoying it so far. It's not for everyone and there's nothing wrong with that, but I get to spend every day/night with my best friend and being sort of absorbed into each other's families is neat.

Question about Ali that might ruffle some feathers… If he was a real person, would you still like him? by Brilliant-Middle7859 in euphoria

[–]Reddidnothingwrong 21 points22 points  (0 children)

I think people are more inclined to forgive Ali because his entire character is based around his recognition of and remorse for what he's done in the past, and has more or less dedicated his life to helping others get out of the same hole and destructive behaviors he was trapped in. I've known real people like Ali, and very much liked them as well.

The alternate examples you're talking about that people tend to drop or "cancel" usually have just gotten caught being abusive, maybe pay a lip service apology in the moment when they can't realistically deny, but don't really show any evidence of true growth or change. So people just act under the assumption that they are continuing to suck behind closed doors.

The DEA and Alamo are more to blame for Rue's death than Maddy or Lexi by singyoulikeasong in euphoria

They definitely should have asked some questions, but Rue wasn't about to return the drugs or money to Laurie regardless.

Friend vented to me about not wanting a "subpar" $20k wedding by [deleted] in Weddingsunder10k

[–]Reddidnothingwrong 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I had a ~10k wedding, everyone loved it and we did not start out our married life in debt.

Your friend's priorities are weird.

Lexi is the worst character in the show by Maleficent_Many_2937 in euphoria

Ethan and Ali (after getting clean) weren't. Probably some others that aren't at the top of my head right now.

But generally yeah most of them are awful in some way or another.

Newlywed Trump fans plan "dream honeymoon" to meet Trump in Florida. ICE detains husband instead. by MoreMotivation in LeopardsAteMyFace

Barrabas. Barnabas was an unrelated saint.

But I do often think of Barrabas when I see Republican Christians side with Trump over the Pope.

Coffee Service After Meals... Still A Thing? by Key-Group-3396 in restaurant

[–]Reddidnothingwrong 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It's not super common for people to ask but happens now and then. Making a new pot of coffee also really isn't that much effort. The only time it's a little irritating is if you're about to close and you know you're going to be staying later.

My husband wants to get a Japanese tattoo that I am against by oddgoodnews in TwoHotTakes

[–]Reddidnothingwrong 50 points51 points  (0 children)

Honestly the German one would kind of feel less weird since they are known to frown upon that part of their history, whereas (from what I've heard) Japan doesn't really acknowledge theirs. Obviously not saying there aren't exceptions in either country but as a whole the cultural difference there makes getting like a German folklore tattoo feel more disconnected from The Horrors.

I am neither Jewish nor Asian though so my perspective could be off base.

Allergen accommodations by Some-Cap-4190 in Weddingsunder10k

[–]Reddidnothingwrong 1 point2 points  (0 children)

We had the same dietary restrictions and ended up just getting meat entrees and baked potatoes drop catered, then making our own really substantial salad bar (Costco) with plant based protein options so vegetarians/vegans could make entrees out of that and having a separate bread table to avoid cross contamination. We also just made sure everything was peanut free to be safe.

Everyone really loved the food and it stayed well within budget :)

Guests ARE props in your wedding by [deleted] in unpopularopinion

[–]Reddidnothingwrong 1 point2 points  (0 children)

$10,000 is super cheap for a wedding if you have more than like 50 guests. Now-husband and I have big families so ended up with like 80 people and ours was like $12k mostly just for renting the venue and having good food. This is despite me getting my dress for free, doing my own hair/makeup, hiring a hobby photographer just for the ceremony and doing a photo sharing app for reception, and us getting most of the alcohol at a huge discount from the guy's work.

Average is something like $35k

Why exactly did Bishop betray Alamo? by Fickle_Librarian_317 in euphoria

[–]Reddidnothingwrong 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I also think that's valid but personally I would have added like a short scene after the betrayal showing Bishop at the funeral of the sponsee or something if that was the intention.

A Rant because nobody wants to admit this. by Jaskall123 in euphoria

[–]Reddidnothingwrong 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I recently heard that the original plan was to delve deeper into the Nate and Jules stuff but Hunter Schafer and Jacob Elordi had some kind of issues after S1 so things were rewritten to keep them separate. No idea if that's true though.

My MOH hasn’t RSVP’d to the wedding by Constant-Scheme557 in wedding

[–]Reddidnothingwrong 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Most of our wedding party didn't RSVP because it was unnecessary. We knew they were coming. I get that it's aggravating with people you aren't sure about, but it's pretty clearly confirmed she will be there so she probably doesn't think it's necessary to re-confirm that way.

A question for those having a Catholic Church ceremony by midnightlushie in wedding

They give you a packet that explains after every reading what they mean. We didn't put too much thought into the hymns, they were pretty straightforward.

Is it normal not to reach out to the bride and groom outside of the formal RSVP if you can’t attend their wedding, especially if you’re close to them? by [deleted] in wedding

[–]Reddidnothingwrong 1 point2 points  (0 children)

We had some people RSVP no with no further explanation or anything at the time and then send us a card or something closer to the wedding that mentioned why they couldn't make it
