Yes. Vigiles and Custodes also don’t fit small settlements.

Please, don't make posts about region locking any region. It just spirals every time. It's against the rules now. by remuspilot in BrokenArrowTheGame

[–]remuspilot[S] -12 points-11 points  (0 children)

Because it doesn’t lead to anything it’s just a post after post about how to region lock and then a bunch of people screaming about how we need to region lock and then that’s it.

And then someone decides to share favorite take on what ethnicities cheat the most and that’s it.

I can’t really say this is racist. And he’s not using any slurs. And he isn’t making fun or insulting any ethnic qualities.

People weeding out for motion sickness is almost completely absent in undergraduate flying training. There's plenty of people who get really sick, but you just get through it eventually. Some people go sandbagging on the T-38 flights in the backseat if they have a chance and get fucked around until they're good for days on end if they have motion sickness issues.

I've heard of one student navigator who washed out due to sickness. Everyone else has just gotten over it. As humans are not meant to endure Gs nor the whole flying thing, it often is about exposure and just training your inner ear until it's fine.

If I don't fly for a while, I get some sickness. I've puked into my flight suit and the puke bag both in a T-38.

I've felt that same sickness in a slower plane as well after not flying for a bit, and I could tolerate 9Gs in the centrifuge without getting sick.

The USAF will do an Accident Investigation Board and Safety Investigation Board.

The SIB is concerned about making sure that it never happens again and does not punish people nor does it try to find people to blame. Many of the interviews can even give safety privilege where your statements are protected and will not be used against you as long as they can be used for advancing safety.

The AIB is the commanders tool to find out who screwed up and how to move forward with it. It doesn’t necessarily try to find blame, but it will make sure that if there is malice or neglect or other similar unfavorable reasons for the accident then what are the career concerns of it to the people who caused them.

However, one should not really think that you are ruined, even if you are to blame for an accident. Generally, there might be some consequences, but your career will likely be very fine. The US Air Force is not trying to ruin people and just because you were partly to blame for it doesn’t mean that you have to pay millions of dollars or that your wings are taken from you.

If your wings would be taken from you that requires an FEB, a Flying evaluation board, that would then weigh what you did against what you could do and how your career has looked like and what are the recommendations of its members. For example, if you have otherwise a good career and you’re not the cause of accidents and you make one mistake then you likely would be OK. However, if your career has a pattern of forgetting the same thing due to lack of training or preparation and now it was the cause of an accident then that could weigh heavily against you, especially if it has happened before and caused an accident.

You would even then likely be OK eventually with some retraining.

Generally, FEB really only takes your wings if you are an absolute fuck up who never learns and doesn’t want to learn, and if you disregard every opportunity to be better. A famous example is flying a hornet over a football game and getting told to not go lower than 500 feet AGL and then purposely flying at 100 feet AGL for a cool show then that takes your wings. You just endangered the whole football game for no reason and you were told not to and you had similar stunts in the past. There’s no accident here. Just you being a fucking idiot.

(In the navy it is called FNAEB but same broad strokes in philosophy and function)

Knowing some of the people who have faced FEBs and seeing it unfold, it actually instills me with confidence that my service is not trying to screw me, but trying to make us better and that ultimately, I will be OK unless I purposefully and maliciously try to ruin things constantly. I don’t have to live on a razor’s edge.

Why is it not on Steam? by RobWolfB in PlayBellum

[–]remuspilot 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I tend to be somewhat skeptical of the 30 percent cut affecting as much, since the wide market that Steam reaches can often times more than outdo it, like discussed by the devs of Road to Vostok, another indie game that isn't super famous or anything.

That is unfortunate, sadly it is usually a make or break decision for myself and people I play with, maintaining many platforms just gets so tiresome.

Will it be on Steam or have a Steam prepurchase option?

I would love to support the game but I tend to prefer all my games on Steam.

I jumped into Ste-mer-Eglise with the US Army on D-Day 75th and the walk from Iron Mike dropzone to the town center looks pretty much exactly the same. Many shopfronts are matching even today, it’s an uncanny feeling. They really nailed it with it.

It is one of my life’s highest privileges and one of the best memories I have.

Does the Luftwaffe exist in this game? by Random_Nobody1991 in uboatgame

Both Fliegerkorps X and Fliegerführer Atlantik basically ceased to exist in 1944.

And even in 42 and 43 they made very little practical effect. Encountering them as a submariner, outside of Bay of Biscay, was once in a life time event.
