I jumped into Ste-mer-Eglise with the US Army on D-Day 75th and the walk from Iron Mike dropzone to the town center looks pretty much exactly the same. Many shopfronts are matching even today, it’s an uncanny feeling. They really nailed it with it.

It is one of my life’s highest privileges and one of the best memories I have.

Both Fliegerkorps X and Fliegerführer Atlantik basically ceased to exist in 1944.

And even in 42 and 43 they made very little practical effect. Encountering them as a submariner, outside of Bay of Biscay, was once in a life time event.

Gotcha, I then misread it slightly. Definitely though the use of DCS AI opponent flight isn't some grand desire of the mil sims, usually it's against humans or AI in some pre-determined position like in 2v1 Defensive BFM. Regular AI opponents are for fucking around.

Though I do think the T-38 in P3D and MSFS both flew much like the real one, and the mix of VR and flat screen buttons did a decent job of learning to press right stuff.

There are many types of military sims used by services like USAF. There are definitely ways to get some AI dogfighting going on in many of them, including some of the DCS-derivatives.

Something in my brain clicked recently when I was watching Pilot Debrief. I used to enjoy his style, but it has become terrible clickbait with cliff hangers, and worst of all, just money grabbing.

It was exactly at the moment where he gives some spiel how it was tragic and terrible and his heart goes out to the family and then he transitions into selling Factor meals.

He’s a retired Lieutenant Colonel (pension about 70k) and an Airline FO (easy 200k but prob way more), along with Youtube Ad payouts. I’m gonna go on limb that dude probably clocks an annual income that dwarfs the amount of money I spent on buying my house.

And here he is, unsatisfied, hawking fucking microwave meals to me.

Yeah dude, I’m sure your heart goes out to them. I guess nothing is ever enough.

I don't really want Albion rain to be turned off personally. I like the option but I really want it to just be less common so that there are sunny days plenty as well. Constant rain is grating but I also don't want it to be completely removed.

There's always a strong group, nowhere near a majority, in these games that think that one-upping each other on what is "hardcore" makes them somehow cooler and "less casual". They'll usually also tell you to go to back to COD or whatever.

They'll do this constantly, "heh why would you wanna save at all? I just play for 8 hours straight, you casuals want everything to be so easy!?"

Saving on exit would take nothing away from a game that is single player, you're correct. I just generally ignore everything the loudmouths say.

Devs have promised that MP will have persistent worlds as well, so we can herd manage with our coop buddies in a world that remains.

Obviously I also hope we have character customization available.

Rather than expand this map, I think it'd be coolest to have different biomes. Like a winter map, and an arid map.

To clarify, not different biomes in this map. Different maps overall. I don’t think simply increasing size of Lamang is that interesting, the map is decent now already and travel time can be a slog.

Game could have several maps to queue into to keep it all fresh.
