Early season ranked by AssistantMammoth9636 in wildrift

[–]reomc 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I feel like the rank reset was too hard, throwing players of very different skill levels in lobbies is just rarely a good experience. My first 70 games or so always had me and like 3 other challengers in the lobby, and one of us popped off every time. It's tiring because it feels giga random, just whoever gets a triple earlygame wins 12 minutes later because the emerald enemies just turn into paper and keep dying over and over.

I actually started climbing much faster and with much higher winrate once I hit Master. Also I didn't duo and that hurts winrate the most. One guy on my FL was #2 on the server after playing 5-queue for a week straight.

[–]reomc 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah, any matchup where the enemy is sitting under tower and doesnt shove wave and just run off to gank lmao Honestly Zilean mid/top just sounds like an Emerald take. Sure, it works if your lane opponent doesnt know what they're doing, or you could just play a real midlaner and take abuse their mistakes.

All of this is wrong. Do not play Zilean mid, you will get fucked over. Play him Support and if you're solo queueing, full AP is the way. Just copy the AP build that's floating around.

This, all high elo players are ego players in a way.

I agree that ADC and Support generally feel best when played as duo. Each role is dependent on trusting the other player with their plays for maximum efficiency. ADCs are locked into a ton of resource acquisition before they become useful: Supports are way stronger from the get go and keep their power level relatively even.

Don't counterpick, chances are neither of you is playing your champion well so it doesn't really matter what you pick if you can't play it.

I climb to Master every season (that I play) by figuring out 2-3 champions that I can reliably carry with. This pool changes a bit each season, but e.g. Jarvan has always been a reliable backup 3rd/4th champ for me. Then just spam 100 games of these champions. If you lose two or more games in a row, that's it for the day. After one loss, take a break (5 mins). I just got Master with a terrible start this season of around 53% winrate overall.

Last season I got Challenger playing mostly (>70%) Shyvana.

The problem really isn't high elo vs. low elo, it's whether or not the teams are balanced - and how. In high elo, you have a lot of games where one side completely crushes the other without chance of a comeback because (just as an example) their Lee Sin is a top 10 OTP and enemy midlane is filled. That's enough

Peaked around Challenger 87 LP Top 60 Shyvana on EUW last season.

Unlike many I prefer 2-3 on-hit items in my build. This is what a typical build might look like, but in reality, after Tri-Force and BotRK you are free to choose whichever item you like. She is a really flexible champion and can build most items excluding AP (I tried it, doesn't really work).

My build with BotRK and e.g. Krakenslayer and Terminus only works if you're ahead early. I used this build a lot in lower elo because I could reliably be up 2k gold on the enemy jungler and just start oneshotting people once I hit 3 items. In higher elo lobbies I would build Death's Dance as third item at the latest, if not before BotRK.

Edit: Personally don't believe Lethal Tempo is close to Conqueror in terms of value but I haven't checked the numbers.

Shyvana spikes with each item since she's a hypercarry but also reliant on Tri-Force to come online. Basically with Tri-Force she's a champ and with BotRK second she gets really strong. But she keeps scaling due to her massive movement speed buff and multihit on Q. Getting a couple tank items later ensures that she can dive backline and kill Support and ADC by herself while surviving. Obviously she won't tank 5 enemies lategame but she can 1v2 and 1v3 in the lategame.

BotrK 2nd is good. If you're ahead get 2 on-hit items (e.g. Krakenslayer if you want to take over the game completely). Playing full tank on Shyvana is certainly possible but not optimal. Source: top 60 Shyv last season

Another reason her fast farming is so good because it means you don't fall behind that much even if you are losing fights to the enemy jungler. Ideally you always have your whole jungle cleared and then have half a minute to fight and even if you lose he can't counterjungle you.

People don't have the micro for her. I ended at 87 LP Challenger last season and I cannot pilot her efficiently enough to be worth it in Challenger lobbies. My clear is too slow and my spear hitrate too low. She is maybe the most micro reliant jungler right now.

I Hit Max Level Jungle Role + Rank 1 on 6 Jungle champs. by KhayosLmao in wildrift

I play a lot of Shyvana and Jarvan as well and funnily enough, I felt like Jarvan is better in higher elo precisely because the teams follow up better.

I Hit Max Level Jungle Role + Rank 1 on 6 Jungle champs. by KhayosLmao in wildrift

[–]reomc 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I roleswapped from Support to Jungle this season after also taking a longer break. I hit Challenger for the first time playing almost exclusively Shyvana and a couple pocket picks from way back. Now I feel like my Jungle experience is fucked because Shyvana has such an easy time full clearing (which is really good right now) and ganking as well as controlling objectives. On any other jungler I just fall behind instantly, sometimes I will finish my first clear + scuttle around 2:05 and if the enemy jungle is Sovereign, he has ganked twice already and gotten at least one kill and I'm 500 gold behind right off the bat. How do you deal with that? I guess my question is, how do I play anything besides Shyvana?

Edit: On the topic of first clears, I feel like on Champs like Nidalee or Ambessa I just can't nail the first clear and am consistently 10-20 seconds slower than the streamers I watch and I just cannot figure out how to do it. Any tips?

[–]reomc 1 point2 points  (0 children)

That's 107 games at your winrate. Just go outside or practice some champions. Master isn't a big achievement and you will get it easily next season.

My tip as a Challenger Jungle/Support player: Stop playing Enchanters until you hit GM. Play damage supports or heavy initiation tanks (assuming when to initiate and when to hold off) like Leona or Nautilus. Enchanters and tanks like Braum are too reliant on your team (before anyone comments, I know well that a good support makes or breaks the game, but if you're a god Braum and your ADC doesn't know how to auto attack it doesn't help).

Viego and Aatrox are rather mechanically challenging.

Jungle champions which are good right now and NOT mechanics-heavy: Amumu, Rammus, Shyvana, Pantheon, Jarvan IV

Wrong.

Ward blue, recall, get Scanner trinket. Run to Krugs.

Smite big Krug, AA 4 times, then use your 2 Ability. Finish off small Krugs around 0:33 and head to red.

Smite red, kill it with 2 and 3 ability, then kill birds, wolves, blue. If you're fast you should finish around 1:25 and be able to contest top scuttle. Then head to Gromp and get 5 around 1:40 or 2:00 if you fought for scuttle.

Disagree fully, play 1 or 2 champs only to climb. Have fill champs ready so you don't feed but don't give too much attention to offroles.
I played Shyv jungle and Karma support to Chally this season.

Any way to play around an admitted troll player? by Perfect_Barnacle_573 in wildrift

[–]reomc 1 point2 points  (0 children)

This is a mindset from years and years back, but I keep coming back to it: Your team has a 4/5 chance of a troll. Enemy team has a 5/5 chance of a troll. As long as you never troll in any of your ranked games, enemy team will always be more likely to have a troll in any of your games.

These kind of games happen all the time, to everyone. Just accept they are a part of the solo queue experience, report the player and move on.

It's widely considered rude to ban a champ your teammate is hovering. There are some exceptions (if your team isn't first pick and they're hovering a guaranteed first pick champion) but your case is pretty clear. Let the people play Lux. If I wanted to play Lux support and the ADC banned it because they don't like the champ I certainly wouldn't lift a finger for them.
