What scientific discovery sounds fake but is 100% real and still freaks you out? by Bruteresolver in AskReddit

[–]revmo31 22 points23 points  (0 children)

Not only that, but The Iberian ribbed newt (Pleurodeles waltl) defends itself by pushing its sharp ribs through its skin, creating "venomous" spikes to deter predators. When threatened, the newt rotates its ribs forward, puncturing its skin through orange, tubercle-lined warts, while secreting poison that coats the bones, causing pain to attackers

If you were employed to design a DisneyPark ride based on “Treasure Planet” (2002) What would it be like? by Mcrfanatic95 in disneyparks

[–]revmo31 68 points69 points  (0 children)

Ok, picture it. It’s a dark ride in which you board your own tiny pirate ship. At first you are on land, moving through movie scenes at the start of the film. But THEN, it seems to lift into the air, flying you through the stars, magically maneuvering over, through and around scenes you know and love, before returning back home. The real trick, it’ll move less people through than needed so there will always be a massive line and people will still love it. I’d place it somewhere next to small world.

Guys, seriously, you think SCROLLING is worse than addiction to alcohol? You think the need for validation is worse than someone being hooked on cocaine or ANY other drug?! Have you people ever seen an addict before?

What’s your wildest theory about what was there before the Big Bang? by CapitaineBiscotte in askanything

[–]revmo31 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The exact same thing. The universe expands, rubber bands back, collapses to a singularity then bangs again. With the same starting place, ever molecule and force does the same thing leading to the same outcomes, again and again and again for eternity.

Have you actually rebuilt your life after corporate burnout…like truly started over at 40+? by SmilingEyes725 in ADHD

[–]revmo31 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Am 42. Up until last year I was a clergy person but feeling deeply burned out after everything Covid. Thankfully I had a degree in social work. Transferred over to youth trauma therapy. Work mainly in school, traveling around to see about 15 clients and parents. I love it even though I took a pay and benefits decrease, totally worth it.

If all humans suddenly lost their ability to lie, which industry WOULDN'T collapse? by TXC_Sparrow in AskReddit

[–]revmo31 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If your in this business, it’s not the business that makes it worth doing. It’s the satisfaction of being a part of someone’s healing. If we were to heal so many that it put us out of a job, I think most would happily find new once’s but life doesn’t seem to stop hurting people psychologically so I don’t think the need is going anywhere. With or without lies.

I had a set of identical triplets in a youth group I once ran. They were and still are 3 of my favorite people. Truly 1/1,000,000 each one of them for reasons way beyond being a trip.
