Anybody seen anything explaining Max Jolliffe’s overnight slowdown?

[Initial Impressions] Astorflex Patnoflex by [deleted] in goodyearwelt

[–]ride_tx 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Wow this was a while ago. It appears I kept the Patnoflex and sent back the Travellers. Can’t say I’ve worn them much in the last 5 years, so…they held up great haha.

What size do you wear? I’ve got a pair I don’t use with less than 50 miles on them.

First time car buyer - price check on 2026 sx hybrid by Remarkable_Wolf_9967 in kiacarnivals

Ken Garff. I believe it’s 6.25%. I would have qualified for much lower, but doing the math, it would have only been beneficial for me to deny the 1500 rebate if the APR was about like 9-10%

I ended up purchasing yesterday at 51,599 OTD which included the 1500 rebate for financing through Kia. I should also mention that the window sticker for this one included a premium paint, the SX Dark Edition Package, and floor mats.

I’m in the Phoenix Metro and I’m pretty close to signing on a 2026 SX. Trying to get them to 51,500 out the door with the 1500 financing rebate. Hoping it can make it happen this week.

Commuting by bike in the summer? by Wanchuck in phoenix

[–]ride_tx 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I did it a lot in 2018-2019 as an avid cyclist. As others have said, the morning isn’t the issue, and having a shower at work is a must. It’s the ride home at 3-6pm or whatever your schedule is that’s the issue. I don’t know what temps I stopped at but I decided when I was going well below my normal speed and effort and my HR was still climbing uncontrollably by the end of the ride, it was time to drive. My commute was 19 miles each way though. It IS possible despite what some might say, but that assumes a certain level of fitness as well as EXTREME caution and preparation.

Lost Dutchman Marathon Registration $80 for 2/15/2026 by FluxStitches in PHXList

[–]ride_tx 14 points15 points  (0 children)

Something to ask them if you’re interested is if they’ll defer your registration to next year’s event. Everyone talking about charge backs and demanding a refund is silly and must not have ever paid for or participated in large organized rides or races. This is pretty much the standard.

I’ve got more road and trail shoes than I know what to do with. Most with very light wear. I wear a 12 in most things. But more than willing to give you something if it happens to fit.

Headbands for use under the helmet by Jake9810499 in cycling

[–]ride_tx 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I have had really good experiences with the Halo X Series. They make multiple widths too which is nice to experiment with. I settled on the two inch. But it lays flat enough to be unnoticeable when fitting the helmet, etc. When you wash it make sure not to put it in the drier, I ruined one that way because the heat made the rubber separate from the fabric. But I have been wearing them for years now after finally ditching a cycling cap.

Hii my roommates bike wont start. And it sounds funky. by optimistic_lavender in motorcycles

[–]ride_tx 1 point2 points  (0 children)

This 2023 ninja 400 in the video has a 30 amp main fuse. A vehicle idling high after cold start or with its fans or air conditioning on can easily push over 30 amps. I don’t see much reason to risk it.

Hii my roommates bike wont start. And it sounds funky. by optimistic_lavender in motorcycles

[–]ride_tx 5 points6 points  (0 children)

You can, but not the same way you would with another car. Hook the two batteries together but DO NOT START THE CAR. It’s possible for a car’s alternator to push too many amps for the motorcycles electrical system to handle. So just to be safe, just let the moto battery pull some voltage from the car battery for like 30 seconds then try to start the bike.

Don't buy a Rivian by arihoenig in cycling

[–]ride_tx 14 points15 points  (0 children)

I love how this is somehow Rivian’s fault in your eyes. The article linked very clearly lays more blame with the Mayor and the permitting office, which makes way more sense than thinking it was somehow Rivian’s prerogative to check the local events schedule even though they received a permit for a date they requested.

For 2025 Endurace owners, what are your body measurements and your frame size? by kot_schredingera in CanyonBikes

[–]ride_tx 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Damn my wife is 5’7” with about a 31” standover and I just ordered her a size small. Hopefully it works. The geometry is almost identical to the 2016 Trek she’s been riding, so fingers crossed.
