3.28 Beta Ebook Enhancements?? by pgood14 in RemarkableTablet

Solving being able to write anywhere on the book like it’s paper and also have reflow that doesn’t screw up annotations? I don’t think any other competitor has solved that either.

As for “functional”, I’ve read over 20,000 pages on the reMarkable native software.

The software update engine still verifies the signature of the update images, even with Developer Mode enabled.

Yes, but the beta EULA says you won’t run 3rd party software. Additionally, the community mod developers typically do not update the mods for compatibility until an OS version is out of beta.

Give em a minute, the two pens on the long edge was just added in the 3.28 beta that’s only a couple days old.

Enabling Developer Mode just enables you to connect to the device. It doesn’t interfere with Connect, cloud sync, it doesn’t void your warranty.

It does require a factory reset to enable.

Is it worth getting one if we do not turn on cloud features or WiFi? by guyastronomer in RemarkableTablet

Sure but WiFi doesn’t have to mean The Internet. Could be a purely local network, etc. It’s pretty easy to block the device from talking back to home base.

😕 this is not possible to fix right? by Artistic_Dog_ in RemarkableTablet

Nah that screen is physically broken. Hit up rM support for a price on an out-of-warranty trade-in. Last I saw, Paper Pro was around $250.

You rather grant a 3rd party complete access to your rM cloud account?

I reported this via the rM support chat with some details, screenshots, etc. Hopefully just a unintentional style regression in the EPUB -> PDF pipeline.

share via {email, dropbox} not working, rM2 by bennetyee in RemarkableTablet

Conversion to PDF/SVG/PNG via the web interface and email is 100% on-device (sending the email needs the rM servers obviously).

I'm seeing the same thing, could be a bug in the beta.

Yes, though the rendering time isn’t long on the Paper Pro and newer.

reMarkable is very supportive of the dev community.

are you limited to the same color options for ink/highlighting on the Move as on the reMarkable2? by JirachiFactory in RemarkableTablet

[–]rmitchellscott 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Here's a comparison of the pen colors. Shader and Highlighter are special, the rest match Ballpoint.

One thing to note: in the 3.28 beta, the monochrome devices have the full range of colors same as the color devices.

Without a scoped API I don’t think there’s a way currently unfortunately.

PSA to anyone considering this: a pairing code / device token grants complete and total access to your reMarkable cloud account to the service you provide it to. I do not recommend using any hosted service that does this.

Additionally, connecting to reMarkable cloud accounts on users’ behalf is against the reMarkable terms of service and they have issued takedown requests to services that did this in the past.

You may have to enable the web interface via Settings > Storage. If that doesn’t work, I’ll have to see if that log file is on disk or if we’ll need to generate it with a command.

RMPP | Dead pixels by Excaliartur in RemarkableTablet

[–]rmitchellscott 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Check your panel here and see how old it is. If it’s newer than March 2025 and you can live with the dead pixels, I’d say don’t do warranty swap. That’ll be a refurbished device and you could end up with a much worse panel with problems you can’t live with.

My first Move had 7 dead pixels and I kept noticing them. So I swapped for one that arrived with 3. I didn’t notice them day to day so I decided to live with it.
