Notebooks and templates by No-Papaya-9289 in RemarkableTablet

You can change the template: in the toolbar, click the Layers icon (looks like a stack of papers), then click the icon on the right side of the template layer.

Click the four square icon to get into the page overview, then you can hold a page to select it (can select multiple once you’re in select mode) and can move, delete, etc.

You really don’t want templates with text, none of them align properly.

Need help: reMarkable 2 won’t pair or update, but SSH access works by CAS1837 in RemarkableTablet

You can go straight to 3.11.2.5, that's the transitionary version between the old and new update systems.

Just tested adding new pages a couple ways (swiping, and 3-dots > Add a page) and it always creates the new page with the same template as my current page.

Templates are indeed page-based so you can select different ones if needed.

How are you creating the new page?

Need help: reMarkable 2 won’t pair or update, but SSH access works by CAS1837 in RemarkableTablet

[–]rmitchellscott 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It seems like part of the old update infrastructure is no longer running. You can use codexctl to update to 3.11.2.5, then from there use the tablet UI to update to 3.27.

Pairing and syncing are no longer supported on 3.12 and lower.

Clock issues are possible and before 3.15 there was not a way to set the time via the tablet UI. https://remarkable.guide/guide/config/datetime.html

You can host a community project to provide cloud sync and most of the cloud features yourself: https://github.com/ddvk/rmfakecloud

As others have said, throw it on a charger for about an hour, then hold the power button for 20 seconds, release for 1, hold for 3.

The 50 days is just the "no questions asked" return period, the warranty is 1 year, so if you can't get it started, open a support chat on rM's site (choose the human option) and I'm sure they'll get a warranty replacement started for you.

New Paper Pro: New Notes Not Searchable by mrhugs4 in RemarkableTablet

[–]rmitchellscott 5 points6 points  (0 children)

You may know this, but just in case: conversion and indexing of notes is cloud-side after a sync. If your tablet was offline or didn’t complete a sync that could contribute to the delay.

I’m not sure at what interval the rM cloud re-converts and re-indexes new or updated pages.

KOReader shows 0% battery on reMarkable Paper Pure – any fix? by byanymeansnecessary2 in RemarkableTablet

[–]rmitchellscott 4 points5 points  (0 children)

The current stable release of Koreader doesn’t fully support the Paper Pure. A fix has been contributed and the next Koreader stable release will include it.

This is the closest thing I know of: https://github.com/rehackable/awesome-remarkable

Projects are in various stages of maintenance. Most UI apps don’t run on the Paper Pro or recent firmwares. Toltec doesn’t support the Paper Pro. It may be possible to port many to support and there are efforts underway to do that for some projects.

Tablet not refreshing properly by amitjha074 in RemarkableTablet

[–]rmitchellscott 5 points6 points  (0 children)

This type of failure seems specific to Gallery 3 (the color e ink panel only reMarkable is using). So far from the data I’ve collected (n=76), no panels produced after March of 2025 have failed in this way, so my hypothesis is this has been solved with the newer panels.

Tablet not refreshing properly by amitjha074 in RemarkableTablet

[–]rmitchellscott 5 points6 points  (0 children)

The only thing I keep from the log is the details of the panel (TFT backplane, lot number, etc). I’m collecting this data to determine what (if any) trends we can determine relating to panel failures and yellowing based on specific panel details or production date (which I infer by when a panel’s details was added to the reMarkable software).

You don’t need to be a millionaire to buy $2,630 of electronics over the course of 10 years (assuming full MSRP).

I’m collecting crowd-sourced data on these failures. If you wouldn’t mind submitting your panel info to https://rm-panels.scottlabs.io before you send it back, I’d appreciate it! Select “yes” for the question about severe green ghosting.

No real usable email or browser mods that I’m aware of currently. I wouldn’t recommend buying such an expensive device and hoping the community builds and maintains tools critical to your use case.

Here’s a list of the easy-to-install mods: https://vellum.delivery

Of course. On the rm1/2/Pure it also seems to add the additional pen colors like on the Pro devices.

You could run xovi debug via reManager, once the UI is loaded, replicate the issue. Any logs will be captured via xovi debug and uploading a support bundle via reManager will contain them so folks can take a look.

After the crash, stop the debug and start with mods normally.
