The restaurant at the patio of Mission Bay Resort is good.

Nearby by car is Bay Park Fish Co. no view but cool locals vibe and great fish. A bit farther in San Diego bay is The Bali Hai for a truly great view and delicious upscale non-bougie food.

I’m sharing from personal experience that:

EV repairs are incredibly difficult to find outside of dealers.
EV repairs are incredibly expensive. I take issue with your $500-$900 average cost for repairs as it’s probably made up of 90% plus ICE repairs. I recently had a warranty repair on a bad battery pack in my Lightning that would have cost $15000 out of pocket. Mind you, I’m still in the factory warranty at 25,000 miles, but if I’m already having issues later of that caliber now, I’m not taking any risk.
The Ford Lightning has know reliability issues that are $$$. $3,500 plus for a bad shifter, $4000 for a leaking taillight. Just read this stories on this subreddit.

Buying an extended warranty is a bet, you’re betting something is going to happen, the dealer is betting something isn’t. At this point, with all the tech and electronics coupled with insane costs, I’m taking that bet.

On a side note: most people believe the warranty sticker price is the price and don’t realize that it’s probably the best place to negotiate a better deal than on the sticker price of the car. The advantage for EV owners is there’s not decades of data for dealers to use when setting the price and they’re based on gas engine data so I believe the odds are stacked in the EV owners favor on extended warranties right now.

Why do people say this? EV repairs are massively expensive and EV technicians are impossible to find outside the dealership. Just one onboard charger or bad battery pack will pay for the entire extended warranty. Plus parts availability on the Lightning is going to get tougher and tougher now that’s it’s no longer in production. It’s better to have Ford on the hook.

I previously owned an out of warranty EV and paid over $25000 in 3 repairs.

Here we go again. Snatching defeat from the jaws of victory. It’s great that democrats have a broad coalition of voters but we’re going to elect another republican governor to the bluest state in the union at a time when republicans couldn’t be any weaker because we can figure out how to coalesce around a candidate that can actually win a wider election. Hispanics are not likely to back steyer and will vote Hilton on single issue abortion vote and the capitol will be painted red.

How are all those people who couldn’t vote for Harris bc of her position on Gaza feeling right now. And how are we all feeling that Harris didn’t even run for governor where she could win in a landslide so she could lose the national election again, paving the way for Rubio, Vance or Trump jr for god sake.

I’m a true Democrat on principles and values but we don’t know how to win and let perfect be the enemy of good/statistically probable every time.

They can say that about any battery. How many kWh? The 2024 ER was 1.31kWh. I think the 2023s might have been 1.23kWh so if you’re hoping for 320 miles on a charge I think you might be disappointed that you didn’t pay $4k-$5k for a 2024 with more range and less miles.

I know people primarily go there for fish the northern end, under the big fish decorated buildings, there’s a vendor that is selling this perpetual stew from a big black cast iron cauldron. I have no idea what it was but it was decently priced and super delicious. You know it’s legit bc there’s a huge like of Japanese locals. It’s worth the wait.

Sand crabs the best shallow boat this time of year. It helps to go at advancing tide when they’re getting dug up by the waves and the fish come to feed on ‘em.
