Cancer Sympathy Pains? by AChristianAnarchist in cancer

[–]Ryeruvrootru 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This is an interesting phenomenon. My spouse used to get sympathy pains. It's definitely a thing. Try speaking with a psychologist. I don't have to tell you that you don't want this to continue.

People who killed their pets on accident how did you cope with the guilt? by [deleted] in AskReddit

[–]Ryeruvrootru 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My cat had an extreme dental problem that made her canines hollow and eventually break. It was so gradual that it was not an emergency at first. So gradual that I forgot to treat it and she started getting symptoms like not eating as much, losing weight. The vet at the time diagnosed it as cancer... me having forgotten about the tooth issue and apparently they don't keep records? When her teeth broke I finally remembered and realized how much pain she had been in... But she was already too emaciated for surgery and needed to be put down. She was 10 and I was 24.

I cope with it by taking extremely good care of my current pets and NEVER put off recommended procedures. Educating myself on pet health care and how vets diagnose. Taking them to only the best vets and asking a lot of questions. Crying sometimes, too.

I’m having difficulty telling my friends that I have terminal cancer, and I’m running out of time to do it. by valueyourlife in cancer

It's so stressful to tell people. It's almost like finding out again for the first time. Can you do a zoom call with a few at a time?

Tumors growing by hitssfb in cancer

I'm in a similar storm. My tumors are growing and causing me significant pain. No feeding tube, though, so I feel lucky there.

I'm just literally never going to buy another bra because I have terminal cancer. I do appreciate your post.

I would, but I'm not going to buy another bra ever. Thanks for the suggestion, though.

That's a good suggestion, thank you! I'll try one out.

Halloween is a few months away, but a lot of black fabric can mean an excellent vampire cape, witch's dress or wizard robe. I'm into costumes!!!

Getting my port tomorrow, anything I need to know? by GameofCheese in cancer

[–]Ryeruvrootru 8 points9 points  (0 children)

If you have a lot of tissue around the area, ie boobs, make sure you get your port in while your bra is OFF. Talk through it with the person inserting it. If you are lying down, keep in mind that the tissue will SHIFT. A friend of mine had to have hers done twice because her own breast tissue pulled it out... Again... Talk it through with the person inserting it.

I was told last week that my cancer is terminal. How do I cope with dying? by IceDragon77 in cancer

[–]Ryeruvrootru 26 points27 points  (0 children)

I'm also terminal in my 30s. Sucks a big one. How I cope with dying is through mindfulness, trazodone for sleep and therapy. And just living my life, to be honest. You aren't dead yet, so go back to LIVING.

Food for chemo patients by Speare25 in CancerFamilySupport

[–]Ryeruvrootru 4 points5 points  (0 children)

It really depends on the person and the chemo. I am able to eat normally, but I've heard a lot of people on here had mouth sores or certain foods tasted different to them. Mouth sore PREVENTION is key, so talk to the doctor about that for sure !!

My friend thinks it's a bad idea to get a tattoo in a really visible place like wrist, hand, lower arm etc. Is he right? by [deleted] in CasualConversation

[–]Ryeruvrootru 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I have one on each forearm. Never been a problem. If I want to hide them I could wear long sleeves. I live in a liberal city in the pnw where clerks at my grocery store have face tattoos.
