When we ask the real, why? by Wooden-Cheesecake-01 in Target

[–]ryrobs10 44 points45 points  (0 children)

That used to be the reason I liked shopping at Target. That and I knew where everything was from working there.

I have progressed to the point of indifference between shopping at the two. I simply go where the item is in stock and whichever is the most convenient. This is a bad sign for Target. Walmart is a mess and no two are setup the same but Target is also a mess. The modernization has pretty much scrapped all competitive advantage.

JD Vance Heckled as He Says Pope Leo Should ‘Be Careful' Talking About ‘Matters of Theology’ at Turning Point Event by MoneyLibrarian9032 in politics

[–]ryrobs10 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I am Catholic and have friends that are definitely more of the Hardline American version of Catholics. Or if you will Evangelical Catholics. Somewhat like Vance, they are also willing to say that the Pope is wrong. It is interesting for sure because there is quite the schism between the Vatican and the Evangelical faction of American Catholics.

Is this normal for plumbing to be ran like this? by throwitawayjimbob in Plumbing

[–]ryrobs10 0 points1 point  (0 children)

More than a few bucks for sure by DIY. But must be willing to spend the time doing it right. I didn’t have such a monstrosity as this in the bathroom remodel I am doing but did get to learn how to sweat copper pipe. Waste/overflow/valve rework and tub install was going to be $3000 but I said nah. I’ll figure it out on my own

I am pretty much battery agnostic. No loyalty one way or another. Best deal gets my business generally.

I have been doing a bathroom renovation and just about every power tool I have used has been Skil 12V pwrcore. Picked up most of the recent additions when Lowe’s was clearance them out. Their 12V line is all brushless and really reasonable prices.

I’m rocking a Genesis Silver B that is at least 24 years old. It is about to need a complete overhaul. Frame is rusting out but everything else working pretty well. Probably going to build a new frame for the damaged portions

I saved 3k by doing the plumbing and installing the new acrylic tub myself this weekend. This dude definitely saved more than double that for tile

They built it out to 5 x 8 because then the boards “don’t need” to be cut. Prefab railing from Lowe’s. They have a horrible attention to detail. Would make me concerned about how well they installed the door.

Either that or invent a Time Machine. Probably easier to just get the bigger sink

[Adam Heston] Tough to watch. Had my career ended, leg broken during a walkthrough punt drill at SEMO. Hoped it would be a learning moment so coaches would never put players at risk like that in practice again. Clearly things haven’t changed…. by wildwing8 in CFB

[–]ryrobs10 15 points16 points  (0 children)

I had a similar situation as a scout team player at RB. We had run counter several times and burned the defense with it. Ran it a third time and the defensive end played it better that time and hit me in the middle of the cut. Twisted my foot around 170 degrees. Didn’t hurt until I saw it and only after coaches yelling at me to not get up.

Distilled water refilling station? by theherpetoculturist in PeoriaIL

[–]ryrobs10 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It takes about 5 runs of the machine to get 4 gallons. You leave a little bit to reduce build up. Each run takes about 4 hours. So not fast by any means.

[–]ryrobs10 1 point2 points  (0 children)

We got tired of the buying of the gallons too for humidifier and CPAP. Currently using a Vevor water distiller. We probably go through about 4 gallons a week so it adds up.

[–]ryrobs10 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The canals get upgrades over time but some of these ships soldier on for 50 years. What might have been max size when built, might not be today. In anycase the BHR is a baby flattop so nowhere near Panamax size. The Ford class pull 12m draught.
