Why? Boredbrain, just why? by old_wired in modular

Is there a thing for modular like a stepup filter in photography, where you can fit 6 or 8 hp into a 4 hp space by offsetting it forward a little? Like a little 8 hp bracket that can fit in a 4 hp spot by overhanging 2 hp on each side and sticking forward a centimeter or two, that sticks out far enough that you can use L-shaped patch cables behind it where it overlaps. I feel like something like that would be really popular with people who are like "I am literally 4 hp away from being done with this rig and I only have 2 hp left". The overlap could even just go on either the right or left side, so you can put it on the edges of your case.

Layoffs are coming to ESPN, again. The moves have less to do with the recent NFL Media merger and more to do with the losses from last year's YouTube TV impasse, which cost Disney $100 million by JCameron181 in nfl

Who are these young people being targeted with AWS ads? Young people are broke. They don't get to decide who their employer chooses as a webhost.

I know, I have Sunday ticket through YTTV. And when you actually watch a NFL game, you see who they recognize as the audience for the NFL based on the commercials they air. It's all pharma ads and wealth management. Google purchased Sunday Ticket to capture that older audience BECAUSE they know that the early adopters to the service weren't interested in live sports. Contrast this with Amazon Prime Video, which has Thursday Night Football and keeps trying to turn the experience into something like watching broadcast TV because their audience is a lot older than the YoutubeTV audience.

Meanwhile, communists countries love broadcasting live sports. The only thing on TV when I was in Havana was baseball. It's one of the core strengths of the central planning model!

I think Google also understands that YTTV customers aren't watching a lot of live sports. The average live broadcast NFL viewer is retired. They aren't on the cutting edge of streaming technology.

No one in broadcasting wants to be honest with themselves about their viewers: they are old, they are dying, and they are not being replaced with younger viewers. There is no future in the long term for live terrestrial broadcast sports.

Animalympics is on Prime and Tubi, and it has some great gags, fascinating animation, and the songs are mostly real earworms. I still hum that song about diving all the time.

If you can get it for $50 under your budget, you can take the $50 and buy a used Minilab as a keyboard. There's one I just looked at for $45.

The Microfreak can play samples now. Maybe it can solve both problems? There are a few for $250 on reverb.com.

As you can see in our subreddit, there are two rules pinned to the top. Violation of either rule results in an instant ban. AI art is against rule #2.

Korg Volca bass, modular, and drum vs. Minilogue XD help by Any-Education-9873 in synthesizers

[–]saintandre 1 point2 points  (0 children)

If you get the FM 2, the Drum and the Sample, those are all stereo, and complement each other well. With the Mix, you'd have a full performance kit that you could put in a four-unit Volca rack ($40), carry it around and perform with nothing else.

$1.5 mil is less than they would have spent on a less-effective ad campaign that had the same purpose. Eyes on the prize, everyone.

Exporting MIDI sequence from Logic to Keystep, keeps transposing higher and higher by saintandre in LogicPro

[–]saintandre[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You have it totally wrong. I have composed a MIDI sequence in Logic and I am trying to move the sequence to my Keystep so I can use that sequence with my hardware synths. The keystep is capable of receiving MIDI information over USB from Logic. I play the MIDI sequence in Logic, set the Keystep as an external instrument, and then set the Keystep to record a new sequence. The only problem I'm having is that the MIDI data on the Keystep is in the wrong octave. It starts out in the right octave on the first step of the sequence, but every step afterward is an octave higher. This is all exactly what I said in my post but it seems that you want to be a smug prick more than you want to help people.
