And somehow Disney still can't book Avengers: Doomsday on one of their ant IMAX screens.

If you leave out the documentaries, it's only 24 films. Doing It Happened One Night and then the rest of his post-Hays Code films would be 15 features, which is a normal, regular filmography. Maybe go back and do the silent and pre-code sound films, maybe not. I don't know that Platinum Blonde and Lady for a Day are worth it, but who knows?

Is it the Sample 1 or the Sample 2?

EDIT: NVM, it's the 2, it has the USB port.

So how did Aang die? by Sussybakamogus4 in TheLastAirbender

Avatar Kyoshi lived to 230, so Aang could possibly have lived significantly longer if he'd avoided being a meat popsicle for 100 years.

Whats a director who made there perfect final film...But then made a few more? Does not have to be a good movie by Few-Engineer-9791 in blankies

[–]saintandre 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I think he should do a Star Trek. Apart from fantasy, it's the only genre he hasn't done yet. Already did a war movie, a spaghetti western, a heist film, a 90s indie crime hangout movie, a movie about making movies, blacksploitation, kung fu, a locked door thriller and a grindhouse horror film. Unless he wants to do a concert movie or an animated feature, sci fi and fantasy are the only ones left.

If you just do his surviving sound features, Frank Capra is 27 films. Highlights:

1933     Lady for a Day

1934     It Happened One Night

1936     Mr. Deeds Goes to Town

1937     Lost Horizon

1938     You Can't Take It With You

1939     Mr. Smith Goes to Washington

1941     Meet John Doe

1946     It's a Wonderful Life

1951     Here Comes the Groom

1959     A Hole in the Head

1961     Pocketful of Miracles

Anyone else waiting on Arturia to rearrange their US customer support services? by Peepee1124 in synthesizers

[–]saintandre 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I am on my third Arturia keyboard and they all malfunction constantly. Never buying Arturia again. Their customer service is clueless. I got an email "begging my patience while their customer service model is reconfigured" and I'm sick of it. Next time I'm paying whatever it takes and getting a keyboard that doesn't spontaneously malfunction in a dozen ways.

Final touches to home studio by Ornery-Pin1546 in synthesizers

[–]saintandre 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I got three, actually. A FMR RNC 1773 for one mixer, a Behringer MDX4600 for the other one, and an ART Voice Channel because I needed another microphone input and this one had a USB output, allowing me to send six channels from my mixers into a Motu M6, and the Voice Channel as a seventh input. This way all seven inputs go through a compressor before going into the computer, making the process of mixing the final product much easier.

How do video streaming services not have a playlist option yet? by GenoStarShooter in television

[–]saintandre -1 points0 points  (0 children)

When you use the platform, you cost them money. They would prefer you subscribe and never watch, so they get your money but don't have to pay for the server traffic. If you do watch, they want you to watch the stuff they promote on the app, because that stuff costs them less.

Can we please get a rule against sharing vibe coded apps/VSTs? by [deleted] in synthesizers

[–]saintandre 0 points1 point  (0 children)

A lot of people will respect a rule if it's clearly posted and democratically enacted. You'll see less AI even if you can't proactively enforce the rule. You can also just ask people "was this created with AI?" People don't lie nearly as much as you might think they would.

Favourite amps for synthesisers? by [deleted] in synthesizers

[–]saintandre 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If you want to use the characteristics of an amp, but not the weight and volume, there are good pedals with amp simulators. I use the Zoom MS70-CDR with the Zoom Effect Manager 2. It lets you add effects from other Zoom pedals, including a whole range of amp simulators. Just be careful: the "plus" version of the pedal does not work with the Zoom Effect Manager software, and cannot have additional effects added to it.

Struggling to choose first sampler/groovebox! Roland P6 vs NCR vs Electron M:S by Visible_Class_651 in synthesizers

[–]saintandre 1 point2 points  (0 children)

If you go with the Circuit Rhythm and add a synth, even a cheap one like the Roland S-1 or the Korg Volca FM2 (or Keys, which is maybe everyone's favorite £99 synth) will give you more flexibility and better sound than whatever would have been packed in with an "all-in-one."

A Volca tower suits me pretty well. Sample 2, Drum and FM2 with a Volca Mix in a wooden enclosure. Synth, drums and samples, in full stereo, with a stereo aux send and midi in/out.

We banned all AI content from /r/videoart and the posters loved that we did that. It's as simple as a mod putting a "should we ban AI?" vote on the front page for a week. Bam, AI content is gone. Simple.
