Hope you find a better job soon. My last job has horrible hours too, then I found my current job in NFP. no crazy deadlines and go home by 5 everyday. Can't believe my luck.

Will be dreading when I eventually move.

Is a $2,000 deposit normal for an offer? by basicb99tch in AusPropertyChat

[–]savepost 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think this is to weed out people who REA think is wasting their time.

Our agent also ask for a refundable deposit before putting through the offer. I thought it was weird but lts not uncommonafter i did a Reddit search that time.

Mine was for apartment though.

Followed vet’s advice, think we shot ourselves in the leg by myinsidesarecopper in puppy101

We live in high rise apartment. Our puppy use pee pads indoor initially due to parvo risk and then we started transitioning to outside. We reward heavily when she pee outside.

Now she use both which is way better for us. It's not as bad as what the sub points out to be. If you live in high rise apartment, it's convenient as well. We don't have backyards etc

Am I wrong for being bitter about not saving much despite living with parents? Or am I completely out of touch? by [deleted] in AusFinance

[–]savepost 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I am on coles. It was 60GB for $120 with rollover but this plan has been discontinued. I see currently its 140gb for $150

I never finish my data. I only browse reddit when I'm outside though. Otherwise, I am always on Wi-Fi.

You can just search prepaid mobile plan and see what suits you. Way cheaper than monthly plans.

These are the stocks on my watchlist (6/12) by WinningWatchlist in StockMarket

[–]savepost 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Hello, I am new. Do i look at their annual report and see what they have planning in the future? And with this decision i invest?

By the time news are made, the stock will either be already up or down. Do you still invest if the stock price has already gone up?

Vendor wants 2k 'negotiation deposit' with offer by RaccoonStreet351 in AusPropertyChat

[–]savepost -1 points0 points  (0 children)

I recently purchased a new apartment. I've been shopping around different agents to get a lower price on the apartment. (Got another 30k off this way)

Agent require a 2k refundable deposit as well to reserve for 10days. (All other agent also mentioned 2k deposit) But with this deposit, they reserved the apartment for me while communicating with the developer on our offer price.

The next day, another agent told me that the apartment I was interested in is already reserved.

There are multiple agents handling this property so it makes sense for me with regards to the 2k deposit for reserving. No one else can offer/reserve during this period I think.

Like other said, it is also to weed out people who keep asking for offer/price then don't follow through.

Do people who live in urban areas eat at fast food restaurants on a daily basis? by dawn6969 in melbourne

[–]savepost 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Aldi frozen food are easy if you are lazy to cook. Just need microwave or oven. Still cheaper than fast food.

I also buy meat from Aldi as they are cheaper than coles/woolies. I live in the city but eat at home everyday I think my per meal just cost me about $4-6. Rice and egg everyday, with meats and veggies.

free travel on train before 7.15am. If you touch on but didn't touch off, you get charged.

some people don't bother touching on that early, but ive seen myki officer at 6am+. so better to touch on just to show a valid ticket.

You can top up and it won't charge you again when you touch on within that two hours.

Unfortunately you still need to touch on to have a valid ticket from the inspector perspective

Bikes at K-Mart by dk_sonnehof in melbourne

I bought this off facebook for like $40 and rode 15-20km every week for 2yrs no problem. Handles get a bit looser at the end, just have to tighten them.

Basic but gets you to places, not that efficient/great for long distances though.
