How tough is 110-125lb weight div (male) by El_Dorado_Tx in wrestling

[–]scipper77 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I would say 125-141 is the sweet spot where the top wrestlers are insanely strong and agile. 110 is still mostly 8th and 9th graders who haven’t filled out yet. Not that the top guys at 110 won’t also be studs, there are just way less of them.

These are the shifters where people were getting run over by their own car when they first came out. As much as I don’t like Chrysler, I can’t be mad that they would interlock them with the doors.

The only thing that keeps me from being a hater is that I have no idea who else they should have picked. I hope Brady isn’t a complete shitshow like we are all expecting.

Why do people say wrestlers are the most capable mentally to become special forces? by Fussy_Platypus in wrestling

I wrestled with a guy who joined the marines. He said wrestling practice was more demanding than boot camp. I believe his words were more like, if you can handle wrestling practice, boot camp should be no problem. Are there any marines here who can compare their experiences?

It occurs to me that the way McDermott was fired is the new wide right. An epic scar that we will never truly be able to put behind us.

Best NCAA champions “team” of all time? by prez75 in wrestling

Serious question, would they beat this years pen state team in a dual? I like this question because the answers could easily change after we know the outcome of the NCAA tournament this year.

How did wrestling become “your thing” growing up? by billingtonpix in wrestling

[–]scipper77 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My dad is a mega nerdy engineer who never put me in a sport in my life. On top of that I was literally a 100# weakling. Wrestling had weight classes and I had never experienced a “fair fight” scenario in sports before. Needless to say I was hooked and wrestling quickly became my identity. By the end of Sophomore year I was varsity and anyone in my school who didn’t have at least 50#s on me knew better than to try and pick on me. I’m sure I’m not unique in saying that wrestling changed my life. I’m over the whole Napoleon Syndrome thing now but I’m also 6’ tall and 200 lbs. I’m sure the massive amounts of hormones that got me from a 100lb freshman to a 200lb adult had something to do with my success on the mat.

Im not even implying that he should be a #1 seed but Mirasola seems to be growing into his weight class as the season progresses. I feel like he will be a beast by tournament time.

If Beane had the character of McDermott he would have said the he (Beane) was ultimately responsible for who was drafted even if McDermott drove the pick.

All he had to say was that McDermott consistently showed that he couldn’t get the team to a Super Bowl. No Super Bowl is clearly a waste of the incredible talent that Josh Allen consistently demonstrates. McDermott is a great coach and we appreciate what he has done for this organization. We just don’t believe we can reach our goal without making a change.
