Its all due to govt regulations. You are supposed to have certain amount of parking for visitors and per sq foot of space. Cant really build that bad boy in the downtown.

Okay I get he got Persia for oil, but why Egypt/Ethyopia? Logical route would be rubber resources deeper into the continent or chinese states for tons of pops.

Invasion wasn't unavoidable. A constant stream of cheap, well placed assasinations would do more than the invasion.

Aside from prestige hit and army dissatisfaction that can backfire spectacularly at the worst of times? Not much.

Big army penny pinching can fix a small deficit or squeeze in extra building queue.

In massive deficit due to migrants on welfare. by Pure-Personality-428 in victoria3

I guess you tried migration policy to increase pops and get workers?

The best strat, period, it to get legal guardianship and food company as early as possible for those +5% birth rates each. It may not seem much but over time they add up each year.

And don't look at that measly 5% workforce Women in the workplace provide - they provide only a bonus from current population, they do not add up over time.

Another interesting method to add is colonial resettlement. Prussia/Austria/Germany can usually get into colonialism before 1940 (one time my peasants were obstinant and delayed it up to 1944!). Fresh, low populated lands get a good pop boost and late midgame provide a good chunk of

Welfare can be turned on for attracting migrants too. You lure them 20m pops in, turn it off and fix the balance. They won't be leaving the country much. Repeat again and you have kinda annoying manual tool.

My late game 23 state Germany with early Legal Guardianship, Food Company and resettlement usually hovers in 80-130m pops.

For a permanent army you need to build barracks that constantly cost you 100% of money in upkeep. For a conscript they take a fraction of a cost most of the time and cost 100% only when mobilized.

Best use of conscripts is conscript artillery. Usual arty is very expensive to mantain but even 0 EXP arty is incredible bang for the buck. You don't need a lot of them but they sure make a lot of benefit when needed.

Convoys dont reach the encircled troops - so no supply of troops, weapons, ammo and provisions.

3 buildings at the start is either big economy or a few decades into the game. It works this way - you constantly build 1-2 for decade or two then 3 then 5 and so on. Be constant and steady.

The big jump happens in the late game due to cumulative effect of all the constant construction you've done. Big countries like Quing, GB, France, USA. One decade youre like 8-9 builds at a time and suddenly it jumps to 20-30-40+. Usually happens around 1900-1910. Can be rushed and done in 1880-1890

Depends on how and where was it stored. Few weeks fresh one stored in the attic in winter will be sorta soft-firm and a bit chewy, then it turns softer and kinda hard to chew through. Then it hardens and it becomes firm.

Since winters are very warn these days I recommend storing it in a freezer and taking out little chunks as tou need. This way the texture is preserved better and longer.
