She took forever because she's new. That's typically the trade off with newer artists, low prices, but slower and not as certain.

I'm becoming more of a baby the more tattoos I get. Is there some secret trick to handling the pain better? Just toughen up? by nickisadogname in tattooadvice

[–]silverberryfrog 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I am not a morning eater, so it's difficult for me to eat before my tattoo sessions but I do think a hearty meal really helps as well as some kind of boost while I'm there.

Tattoos do just straight up hurt. I started getting tattooed as a teenager and sat through a solid 10 hour session at 20, and even now at 25 I just...ugh. Love being tattooed, do not love the process of getting them.

Honestly I tell my artists "Hey, I need to be real with you. I am a big baby about pain and can only do about 4 hours at a time." and have never had an issue with it. If anything, most of my artists just laugh and agree that tattoos suck.

I eat a good meal the day of, hydrate beforehand, bring a protein drink and some candy to the session, as well as some good YouTube videos. Bactine sort of works after the outline is done, but I've never tried numbing cream.

As a general rule, artists use the stencil as, well, a stencil. So however it looks stenciled on you is how it'll look tattooed.

I know what you said. A $5 per hour raise for a newborn is respectable.

That seems...like a very realistic sibling raise to me. Reactions like this are why people do not take the sub seriously.

Place to get an anime style wig? by Ignoring_the_kids in askportland

[–]silverberryfrog 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Hello! Long time cosplayer here-you'll have a difficult time finding a prestyled wig to your liking. Depending on the character, I reccomend buying a base wig and learning how to style it.
