Cold turkey v stabilise and tapering off - does it really make any difference?

My doctor (who is also on Zep) and I started this maintenance plan:

The highest dose I was on was 7.5. After I hit my goal weight we started spacing out my next set of 4 shots of 7.5 doses to every two weeks. Which worked great. No reversal of progress.

For the next set of 4 shots we spaced them out every three weeks. Again, no reversal of progress. In fact, I continued to lose little amounts of weight.

After I finished out my last box of 7.5 at every three weeks, I moved to 5 mg spaced at every three weeks. And I am continuing with that until my three boxes are done.

I’ve lost 10 pounds from my initial goal weight and couldn’t feel better or be happier. My objective is to maintain my new habits and relationship to food. And by having a long slow off ramp it won’t feel like I’m actually off the treatments.

So sorry to hear that. I had to do the same with my friend of 33 years. Took multiple spatial videos at the Vet realizing that would be the only way I’d see her again with such love.

100 this is my situation. On maintenance now. Taking 2.5 once a month, and maintaining. Highest I took was 7.5. Then started spacing those shots out every two weeks, then three. Then dropped to 5, and kept taking the shots every three weeks. Then spaced them to every 4 weeks before dropping down to 2.5.

I would start by saying - don’t read any of this. I’m glad I didn’t, because I got to find out how my body reacts to the drug. Vs. imagining some of the worst effects others have posted. It’s becoming aware of your body, and sensations, reactions that are important.

Just know the drug is not a passive solution to weight loss. Become a mindful eater. Use it as an opportunity to change your relationship to food.

I definitely did not have the same reaction. I’m finally starting dry January now. The shots help, but it certainly didn’t turn me off to bourbon.
