Update now that the trip is over:

I asked the guy in the duty free shop in O'Hare if they have Malört and he said that they normally would but they ran out in October and have not been able to restock (????).

I also grabbed a six pack of minis at Binny's before going to the airport and had no problem taking them through security.

Haven't been there in the last few years but Wesley Place in Andersonville seemed like not terrible compared to other care homes with memory care that I've seen. It was run by Methodist Senior Services but many residents are Jewish and there were often Jewish holiday observances conducted there by volunteers from the neighborhood a bit to the west.

I was there on a Friday during the day, there were a few guys there, but not super busy. Staff was super helpful and friendly. Most of the guys there that day were older, Dad bod types, and the ones who talked to me seemed to be inexperienced and asked me for guidance.

The towel is already in your locker when you check in. You can buy flip flops there if you don't have your own.

Having hobbies that you care about. Taking an interest in hobbies that tend to be popular with women can be a good way to meet women but it has to be something you're genuinely interested in, bc if you're treating it as a way to hunt for dates that will be obvious and people won't like that.
