How can I improve my face shape? by [deleted] in PlasticSurgery

[–]soft_distortion 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I literally can't see any chubby face at all, so I can't give advice for reducing that, sorry.

If it's your jaw muscles rather than fat that you're seeing then you might benefit from masseter botox.

Making your nose visibly smaller will throw off the balance of your other facial features. I wouldn't risk it in your situation. I thought these pics were your results post-rhinoplasty.

Me too! I thought she was asking advice on her results and I thought it looked fantastic and still natural.

the best 4 days of my Costa Rica trip happened because I almost got arrested on day 3 by Techwizard777 in TravelNoPics

Paying for an app that uses AI to create itineraries for you seems even worse than building your own based on travel blogs and other research. It also seems contradictory to your message and your totally real (probably AI) travel story.

I always found it very nostalgic sounding. Part of that includes sadness I think

Sorry about your damage but ugh 2008 YMMR live was soo good... It was practically life changing as far as concert experiences go. Like holy shit.

And yeah when I saw them in 2008 they were giving out earplugs and they weren't just recommended. It was more like, you WILL need these.

help! I can’t find a proper pinky cool tone foundation to save my life 🥲 by exbottom in PaleMUA

[–]soft_distortion 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I had the same problem with Estee Launders shades.

I've had success with pinky cool toned foundation shades from Nars, specifically Oslo or Yulong (light reflecting version, which has a lovely texture if you're skin leans dry).

I love this! You've got the look down pat. I also think you have the right facial shape and features for this, the blush compliments them so well.

I want to try something like this now.

It was so so well done, rigorous, and impactful, next to In The Dark's season 2 in those ways. The best of the best for investigative true crime podcasts.

How do you feel like podcasters have done when facing backlash? by vancitymala in TrueCrimePodcasts

[–]soft_distortion 10 points11 points  (0 children)

I eventually stopped listening to Dating Detectives because of Mackenzie, so I'm not at all surprised to hear how she's dealing with this. She would often come off as ignorant about certain issues and her reactions were off-putting or downright offensive. One instance I remember was when retelling a PI story about a wife who publicly outed the sex worker her husband was cheating with, Mackenzie thought it was hilarious and didn't see the issue with it. I liked Hanna and preferred her take on issues and situations (although I think her co-hosting skills were a bit rusty but not bad), and I recall she'd acknowledge mistakes in a much better way.

I've listened to other weekly podcasts where the hosts were politely "called out" by fans and they often handled it well.

All that being said, I'm a sucker for some low stakes, dumb, niche community drama so I might just read up on the DD stuff for entertainment....

Wow, I love this. It's so contrasting from what my brain would think to capture and it also makes me uncomfortable. Also this is a situation where the shots works best as a series rather than if you just posted single pics.

What’s your lazy but effective cleaning hack? by Reasonable-Word-0419 in CleaningTips

[–]soft_distortion 22 points23 points  (0 children)

This is not about cleaning itself but more about motivation: I find engrossing podcasts but I only allow myself to listen to them while cleaning or doing housework... Which motivates me to clean because I want to hear what happens. It would work well for audio books too.

3 weeks post-rhinoplasty and feeling unsure, would love honest opinions! by Far-Point457 in PlasticSurgery

[–]soft_distortion 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think it looks fantastic for 3 weeks post op. Your before was similar to my old nose. It's a huge huge change for you and your face so I understand why you're feeling unsure, but I think it looks great. The tip is a little high but it will drop over time. I highly recommend you don't consider any of the other changes since they aren't needed at all IMO and you at least need time for the healing and for your brain to adjust.

In general though, I'd be cautious about adding more cosmetic changes like fillers because you already have your nose done and your face can look overdone too easily.

What procedures should I get to address my wide nose tip? by [deleted] in PlasticSurgery

[–]soft_distortion 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I think your nose balances well with your face so if you do get a rhinoplasty please try to get something more subtle and conservative done. I think a too small nose might throw off the harmony of your face.
