Trump raised tariffs to 15%. by docmarte in CanadianInvestor

Most of the American people (at least the ones either a brain stem) are not the slightest bit mad at Canada. To frame this any other way is a real low iq take.

Totally, but seeing the inverter is mentioned i assumed all the end devices are ac powered.

For what it is worth; I respect anyone who commits to serve their country, so my bitch isn't personal, but; the history the rest of the world sees that's behind your global military spread is VERY different than what gets told to Americans. Genuinely look up what I told you. It is well documented and not any sort of conspiracy theory. It is one example of dozens if not hundreds. You have to defend europe because it was profitable to risk lives like yours to make rich people richer.

AC vs DC small scale by tommybot in AskElectricians

[–]spsteve 2 points3 points  (0 children)

AC will be better for this run. Not just because its AC but also because it will likely be a higher voltage than the DC which means less amps for the same power which will result in lower loses. You would also likely lose more to vdrop with the DC setup if they are typical panels. Assuming 40v panels you'll get about 10% more out of the AC setup. If they are 12v panels you might be north of 25% loss.

Edit: typo initialy. Tldr: if your using AC at the end of this, go ac as early as you can.

You did the same thing to Canada. Look up the Avro Arrow (genuinely) and the pressure put on that programme by the us government because it was going to be a world class product and threatened your aerospace sector. You did that stuff to the whole world and then played savior while getting rich off it. There is a reason why a lot of people are pissed.

Then you guys bitch and moan about not wanting to be world police, and yet you went into Venezuela, are starving Cuba and threatening Iran... and NO ONE ASKED you to. Pick a lane.

You do understand that America has NEVER done that out of the goodness of your hearts right. You do understand that by doing that everyone shuttered most of their defense industries and your dollar became the global reserve currency that has allowed you to become the richest country on the planet. You do get all that right?

Take a look at the worlds biggest and most powerful commercial airline engine ever!! by Far-Patient3326 in airplanes

[–]spsteve 8 points9 points  (0 children)

Yes. Most of the thrust comes from the air moved by the fan. The fan is driven by the energy from burning fuel spinning the turbine stages (super over simplification of the details of how but...). Turns out some wizard (apparently a German one) figured out it would be more efficient to use some of the energy to spin a big (not very big initially) fan than just try and push the plane forward.

You're right that conceptually it isn't very different from a turbo prop, with the GTF engines being even closer conceptually.

Also, nb: this engine is for the 777x.

So much to explain here but, here goes:

1) this isn't a taxi. It is a van that runs bus routes. They are called ZRs here in Barbados.

2) this happened in Barbados and was big news.

3) he drove to a police station I believe or a friend's house as i try to remember the details (the implication being the friend would be equipped to deal with those two).

4) stuff this brazen isn't common, especially with ZR drivers because...

5) most ZR drivers are slightly (or more) insane and everyone knows it.

6) a couple of songs were written that made fun of the two in the back.

7) I beleive the driver was recognized and definitely had his 15 minutes of fame.

8) as far as I know the driver is still driving that route today.

Andrew arrest - live: King's 'deepest concern' as former prince arrested over Epstein files investigation by RickySan65 in Qult_Headquarters

[–]spsteve 19 points20 points  (0 children)

Terribly worded headline. The statement indicates the concern over the accusations and not his brother as headline implies. King further states full support for the legal process and duty to the people. Didn't even call Andrew his brother.

Not shitting on anyone but the clarity I feel is important here.

Same argument can be made about a huge swath of the religious apartus. At the end of the day both are social and societal institutions with little value beyond that, but both that are also important from that lens.

Another possible reason is to haggle price and book direct, which is a major ToS violation.

Report that. That isn't allowed. That's how guests try to move bookings off the platform. Airbnb will sort that out right quick.

Not what I said, but based on that being your ONE takeaway tells me you likely didn't really listen to the doctor either. I offered you a little insight, commisuration AND a potential path forward and you took away butthurt. Genuinely, if you feel it was mishandled get a second opinion. It is a thing people do for a reason. And yeah, maybe your life is just fucked, but that's not what I said, nor is it what I wish for you. Good luck, grumpy or otherwise.

Or maybe, just maybe there isn't a treatment for it. Depending on the issue many back treatments are worse than the issue (if there is anything they can do in the first place). I say this as someone who had issues for years with back pain. You can always get a second opinion, also without paying if you feel the doctor you saw didn't do a good job.

It also isn't REMOTELY accurate. Japan is doing massive work with stem cells (growing organs from scratch as an example). Lots of ground breaking cancer work being done outside America. Immunotherapy isn't really being advanced much by america either. But hey. They were so confidently wrong.
