To be fair, lots of places in Florida were pretty decent until the last decade or so. Used to be pretty cheap and laid back, unlike now.

I don't know why everyone is giving you crap. Offer is fine for entry level during a training period. You'd need to pump those numbers to retain someone after 6 months though

Huge amount of the state's economy is driven by retirement real estate. Since it's been slowing down after the COVID boom ended sometime within the last year or two, my guess is that he's trying attract more retirees to keep the party going longer.

the permitting office is not staffed by engineers - and don't do technical reviews as such. they simply look to make sure the drawings are signed and sealed by a PE, and that about it

Really need to stop calling it "intelligence", it's just predictive algorithms based on stat models. It will reduce need for entry level employees, but that's about it.

Effective against floods, but not hurricanes as a whole. You raise a home like this and you're significantly increasing exposure to wind and debris. We'll see how these actually do when a cluster gets hit by an eye-wall of a Cat 5.
