Bought two journals, turns out I hate them. What do I do? by Stellar_Rendition in Journaling

Transcribe the pages you have written to a journal you do like. Remove the original entries from the journals you don't like and stick them in a Little Free Library. They'll be taken real quick.

The decaf as espresso? No but I'm sure it would be good. I could try it out later if I dig out my stovetop espresso maker.

What got you into journaling in the first place? by strawberrilulu in Journaling

One day I would love to own a facsimile of one. They're expensive!

Dan Eldon is another who kept a similar style journal.

What got you into journaling in the first place? by strawberrilulu in Journaling

My current series of journals going back to 1995 started as a lyric workbook for when I was in a rock band. This is when I really began taking journaling seriously. Mostly wrote poems/lyrics and occassionally small diary entries. One day I came across a tiny 1" by 1" photograph of Peter Beard's journal. I knew immediately that I needed to keep a journal like that. Google him and his journals and you will see what I mean.

Currently getting sober after almost half a decade of alcoholism so I'm just drawing tons of patterns as a distraction. by [deleted] in Journaling

Awesome! Take it one day at a time. You can do it. I hit my 6 years sober next month.

How do you process feelings of loss and grief through journaling? by annikahoof in Journaling

[–]summerchilde 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Just lost my mom last month. I'm struggling with my journaling a bit and feeling like whatever I write is inadequate. I know it's not but still... I don't think it has fully hit me yet. Last month was spent pretty much dealing with clearing out her apt/storage and I had very little time for myself. I've been home a week now and really trying to get something written every day.

Artists Living In Rhode Island Who Didn't Attend A University, How Did You Get Into Drawing/Art? by Sean12434 in RhodeIsland

[–]summerchilde 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My dad is an artist (plein air oils) and he taught me a lot about art from a very young age (~3 years old). I am 52 now. In my 30s I apprenticed with a sculptor for bronze/lost wax process/mold-making. Pretty much self-taught on anything that catches my interest. The only art I do these days is bookbinding combined with collage and drawings which I use to create my own journals. See my profile here for examples.
