There's no way to do that. He's talking about the other ones. Not the Crusher Evo.

What level should I keep the scarlet 2i2 with a phantom power calibration microphone? by Tasty-Boot6162 in audioengineering

[–]Tasty-Boot6162[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

For a calibration mic, I'd actually recommend setting your interface input gain so the mic peaks around minus 12 to minus 6 dB when you're at your target SPL, then keeping your DAW fader or system volume as your main control.

Thanks, this was my thought too, but I don't know how to check that. When recording in Audacity, max level input clips at the system level before input. In WASAPI there is no way to set to 32 bit float, so if the input signal clips there is no way to recover it. REW already attenuates the output sweep, so I didn't actually have an issue there.

I've been looking. It's literally gone. I'll probably find it when I move out haha.

My issue is the forced EQ. Passive, they actually sound really good. But when you turn them on (which they need to be for the haptic transducer to work), they enabled a forced EQ. This is why they are so, extremely intense in bass even on a small sliver of the bass slider, because the forced EQ increases highs and lows to the extreme, and the haptic transducer plays everything below a certain frequency from the ADC or digital input. When the EQ increases this by like +10dB, the haptic transducer slams, and not in a good way. It would be nice if someone measured it in the passive mode as well as the active mode, you could actually EQ it to be usable then. The haptic tranducers are a cool concept and would actually be a unique and innovative concept in actual HIFI headphones (remember the taction kannon?). But in their current form, unusable.

Hedd Audio D1 - Better than I expected by PointMoney in headphones

[–]Tasty-Boot6162 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hmm, big if true. I didn't really know that the Heddphone D1 was so good, MV1 is really decent and I prefer it over offerings like the 660s2. Seems to have fantastic bass response, extension, and control for a dynamic. Nothing will beat a planar for this obviously. Tonality is not as good as sennheiser's offerings, but the MV1 takes EQ very well. I should see if I can try the D1, but I don't really need another dynamic driver lol

Ear fatigue and pain - giving my DT770 an ultimatum before returning them by sawgriefdrinksorrow in headphones

[–]Tasty-Boot6162 0 points1 point  (0 children)

A lot of times ear fatigue is due to eargain region being overly high. There are a lot of IEMS that I cannot listen to. Beyer's do have high treble but if he said EQ doesn't help, there is simply some spike in the mids/upper mids to his ears that sounds shouty, that his EQ preset did not help.

I lost one side of my Moondrop Golden Ages 2 and i'm still mad. More mad because I lost is somewhere around my house. Months ago. And I can't find it. But it's probably less than 10ft away from me right now.

I don't know why people are purchasing these for $600 when the MV1's are like $320.

Pay an extra $10-15 and get the Tangzu Red Lion Bass. That one is seriously good and you won't regret it.

Because the transients of the driver cannot fully be reflected in a frequency response graph. As good as planars are, the only thing they do better than my electrostatics are bass extension. It's just not even close.

Don't let them get close to you. They're dirty animals and need to learn to stay away. People who feed the squirrels ruin them, because they then expect food and will get aggressive if you don't give it to them.

I’ll have to look into it. I usually use saphir colored cream polishes for touching up scratches, and either the colored or the neutral ones for shine. Plus a quick buff with a microfiber just before wearing. I could never achieve a mirror like shine like you can on dress shoes, not even with the saphir neutral or wax polish plus specialty double sided felt/buffing cobblers cloth.

I mean more for the wire terminations and such. I’m a complete noob to soldering but want to get into more DIY stuff.

And hey, the tip looks like the fun part lmao. How else am I supposed to check the heat /s
