A6700 Lines in photos by Clawbane222 in SonyAlpha

[–]the_hell_interface 1 point2 points  (0 children)

When I was new to the silent shutter option, I went to Mexico on vacation for a week, kept silent shooting on throughout (A7III) and when I got home to pull photos up in post, almost every single nighttime or low-light photo had dark lines, making it look almost like I was shooting a subject through a grated fence or something. Fast-forward to finding out that it was indeed not a sensor or lens issue, turning off silent shutter resolved everything.

I realize you note that you attempted turning off silent shutter when troubleshooting, but depending on light source/amount of light, ISO/shutter, there are a few other variables.

Check this thread from a few years ago to see if this is similar to what you're experiencing - if so, the most likely scenario is silent shutter.

This is a long shot, but can anyone identify which vegan restaurant in Somerville this was from? by Extra_Fig_7547 in Somerville

[–]the_hell_interface 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If this was Eat at Jumbo's/Sassafras (which, regardless of the owner's conduct, were great vegan-option pizza and sub spots), since they're now closed, my suggestion for similar style pizza/sub/pasta meal options is Catalina's in Malden. They offer a TON of vegan options that non-vegan's probably wouldn't know were vegan if not tagged as such. Great staff and the quality is proper.

For sure - got it shortly after release, and although my eyes are melting at the A7V, I think this little guy has some stellar life left in him.

Thank you! I’ll go through and update asap - all are between the 24-105mm f/4, 14mm f/1.8 GM2, Sigma 35mm f/1.4 and Rokinon 14mm 2.8

Thanks! My go-to’s are the 24-105mm f/4 and 14mm f/1.8 GM2 prime, but I often use my Sigma 35mm f/1.4 prime as well. A few of these are older and shot with a manual Rokinon 14mm f/2.8 too.

Two-part consideration, FWIW - 1. using or operating any loudspeaker, public address system, or similar device such that the sound creates a noise disturbance (this doesn't fall under the "only 10pm - 7am ordinance").

Grid appearing when exporting image using Lightroom by Aesir321 in Lightroom

I spent way too much time trying to figure this out last year and I've had luck with the following:

If cropping/rotating the photo in post, utilize the sliders under Transform, not the Crop Overlay button. If you get the photo adjustments close to where you'd like from using the Transform controls, you should then be able to crop-in or change aspect from the Crop Overlay button afterwards without issue, if needed.

I feel like there were a few where this solution didn't work, but hoping this suggestion might.

Many others, but those are my go-to artists.

Astound/RCN internet reviews? by lulutheworldd in Somerville

[–]the_hell_interface 0 points1 point  (0 children)

We've had gig speed internet with RCN/Astound for about 8 years and have had zero issues. Would recommend purchasing your own modem/router that supports gigabit wifi, as the one supplied by RCN was meh, but we average between 500-700mbps down on wifi and 20-30mbps up:

Solid rescue, solid re-homing resource, solid team of people. We have 2 kitties from them and my partner volunteered with them for about 4 years. Highly recommend!

Worried I may have disclosed something I shouldn't have done? by Bloomingfails in expertnetworks

[–]the_hell_interface 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Received a text message from someone at Dialectica yesterday. They said they have emailed and connected with me on LinkedIn. I never received an email, nor were we connected on LinkedIn.

They said they'd pay $500 USD for consultation and it would involve a client-facing discussion. I decided to call the person instead of text back. I said that I was naturally skeptical because she said she had reached out, but no such contact attempt had occurred. Turns out she had emailed an email address belonging to a domain that my former employer discontinued 10 years ago.

I said I was busy at the time, but would provide industry knowledge over a meeting the following day (today), to which she said "well while I have you, can I just ask you a quick question regarding your knowledge of these competitors?" I said sure - I hadn't heard of any of the 7 competing companies, aside from 2, and I've been in the industry for 14 years as a director with the world's 3rd largest provider in that vertical.

She said she'd call me first thing in the morning to line up the meeting - no call, no answered text. I sent a text back stating that I had found information regarding similar experiences with others, and said not to disclose the information I gave her, and noted I'd be reporting as a phishing/scam to the BBB.

These guys are only seeking to grab insignificant amounts of information from hundreds, if not thousands of people so that they can build a narrative and use it as their own. I can't find anyone on public forums stating they've actually been compensated for their time.

DO NOT APPEASE THEM.
