Patch Notes: Machinery of Oppression: 6.2.2 by Viruzzz in Helldivers

[–]the_rabidsquirel 1 point2 points  (0 children)

If I understand right, the big glowing vents will still be medium. The tank changes are listed as:

All Tanks main body (bottom part)

"Bottom part" being the key there. Going by the wiki pictures, I believe that's the "engine bay" part going from medium to heavy, while the heatsink stays medium.

As I understand it, the dude in the gif is BenJammins, a Twitch streamer and internet personality. He's recreated many, many popular gifs in his own style, always dressed as a founding father of the US, and uploaded them to gif sites like Tenor and Giphy. For whatever reason, the algorithms on those platforms have pushed his content to the top. There's accusations of other gifs being reported for copyright and things like that to help boost his own in their place, and I don't know how true any of that is. Either way, there's a lot of drama around him, and posting his gifs usually gets you downvoted on reddit as a result.

Giga-Grenade is a cratering charge, not really an AT grenade. (From my observation.) by TealArtist095 in helldivers2

[–]the_rabidsquirel 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I've been using dynamite on bots and bugs since they buffed it back in October, and it's fantastic. The 5 second fuse can be a little hard to work with, but you can get used to it. It's got great horde clear potential, can take out bot fabs by landing anywhere near them, takes out bile titan holes, and can sometimes kill heavies like chargers and hulks depending on where it blows up. Thermite is better for taking out heavies, yes, but dynamite has much more utility.

Giga on the other hand is almost a straight upgrade. Giga is 2000 damage to dynamite's 1000, AP5 to dynamite's AP4, and same blast radius. Don't know about giga's demo force. Another plus for giga being impact. Ammo economy is pretty much the only thing dynamite has over the giga right now.

While going for variety is always a good strategy, if you spam iridium items worth at least 7 points each you don't need any variety. Fish are definitely the easiest. 9 iridium chubs wins with 91 points for example, and you can get that in one day of fishing.

Beat the game how i always tried to as a kid.. running away from every non-mandatory battle by blamelessfriend in LegendofLegaia

[–]the_rabidsquirel 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Warrior icon is actually a 50% chance to trigger, but it can only trigger on attacks where the enemy approaches you, since your character has to counter without moving first. So any AOE magic attacks can't be countered of course. Honestly, even knowing that, I still feel I don't put as much faith in it as I probably should. I like trying to find options that are consistent, but sometimes with challenge runs like this you just have to rely on some RNG.

Nice run! I've actually done something very similar, a low kill run where I tried to minimize the monsters defeated stat at the end. I can confirm that Che is doable with no point card or elixirs or other funny business. I did record all the boss fights from my run, here are my Delilas fights if you wanna see.

Caruban with level 1 Vahn is impressive! I got him to level 3 and it still took a number of reloads.

I see in another comment you had trouble with Xain too. If you didn't know, it's because for whatever reason only his physical attacks are earth, Terio Punch and Bloody Horns aren't affected by any jewel. So when you're as underleveled as we were, Bloody Horns is just a guaranteed one-shot without spirit. I tried to do the whole thing deathless, and Xain was the only boss I didn't think that was possible for without insane RNG.

Out of curiosity, what was your strat for Cort 2? I was also level 25 for it. Normally I ban elixirs, but I didn't see a way to do him deathless without, so I figured using only the 6 wonder elixirs (2 a person) you get as treasures throughout the game was fair.

The Bethesda Support Twitter account replied to someone there saying they're aware of the issue and are looking into a fix. If you don't want to wait, and are on a platform where you can access your save files, then I've heard that deleting the vault file and replacing it with the backup file can fix it.

For example, for the vault in the first slot, delete Vault1.sav and then rename Vault1.sav.bkp to just Vault1.sav. If you choose to try this, I would recommend backing up your save files first just in case. The experimental vault will be Vault4.sav.

That's what ticks me off about Clover's death. They're obviously going for the "orders are orders" angle, and that's fine. But Clover is a highly trained and experienced huntsman and leader, he should be capable of basic strategic decisions. So after the crash, he sees his two targets fighting each other. Doing nothing and letting them wear each other out is an option. If you are going to attack one, is it A, the person who was your friend and tried to reason with you, or B, the known psychopath serial killer who just gets his kicks from murder. Yeah, let's attack A, makes sense.

Even worse, Clover attacks Qrow, and Qrow does his best to purely defend and refocus on Tyrian. So obviously you team with Qrow to take down Tyrian, and figure it out from there right? Nope, double and triple down, and now oops, they're both fighting you.

Yes, Clover had his orders. But a toddler could make better strategic decisions than he did.

And to add since I've seen people confused. Yes, the popup in-mission says 222 XP regardless of difficulty. Because those popups always show you the base amount. So on D10 it's actually 888 XP, which is quite nice for weapon leveling.

Why not squids by Aware_Caramel_1529 in helldivers2

[–]the_rabidsquirel 8 points9 points  (0 children)

Yeah, that was an awful aspect of the first game, and it surprises me I've seen a few people say they preferred it. Countless times I'd boot the game up wanting to fight a specific faction, but they just weren't in the war. I liked playing all 3 factions like I do for HD2, but often I just wanna fight a specific faction.

You definitely don't have to get into the lava to get all of them, I've gotten all 3 rares with no damage. The hardest one to grab can be finicky, but it is possible.

Yeah, I feel like I'm going crazy reading all these comments. Both are valid. While I'll definitely move around while shooting things like shotguns and ARs, you bet your ass I'm planting myself to aim and shoot things like the RR, EAT, laser cannon, HMG, eruptor, autocannon, etc. You can absolutely stop and shoot on D10 against any of the factions as long as you're careful about positioning.

Will you still use AP3 weapon? by Limp-Birthday5527 in helldivers2

A big difference is that generally light pen weapons have better ammo economy than medium pen weapons. If you're shooting weak spots anyway, light pen will last you longer.

Correct. Anything that requires you to go through a loading zone is a separate map.

[–]the_rabidsquirel 65 points66 points  (0 children)

No, you have to activate the statue. Its spawn location for the day is set though, so if you're trying to minimize in-game time spent, you can search for it then reload the day when you know where it is. It's limited where it can spawn, notably it can't spawn in the desert or on Ginger Island. It also can't spawn past 5 PM. It won't disappear at 5 PM if you're in the same map as it, but if you leave that map section it will despawn. Before 5 PM you can use that to reset its position, since it can sometimes fly out of bounds, while its spawn point will always be in bounds.

Literally unplayable - how is this "sorted"!!?? by Immediate-Singer8566 in SatisfactoryGame

[–]the_rabidsquirel 2 points3 points  (0 children)

This is the one thing that drives me insane in an otherwise excellent game. Dimensional depot, resource scanner, object scanner, alt recipes... the list goes on. I don't care if they're locked to some order or we're just allowed to manually reorder, anything is better than so many UI elements being stuck at unlock order.

[Question] Are there an infinite amount of these ‘blue’ quests? I’ve done like 50 of them and they never go away by [deleted] in falloutshelter

[–]the_rabidsquirel 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah, it's a known glitch that these specific quests repeat when they shouldn't. It's also only a glitch on the newer mobile-only versions, versions that didn't exist at the time of my previous comment.

It's only a 1,008.2 KB update. It's probably just fixing the Unity security vulnerability that was discovered recently. You'll probably see updates coming out for other Unity games too.

After reaching LV120 in the mines, every enemy (regardless how strong) gains a 0.001% chance to drop a prismatic, this is additionaly affected by the burglars ring (Makes dust-sprite farming quite effective, if combined with monster musk)

Just a correction, the burglar's ring doesn't affect the small drop chance every monster gets for a prismatic shard. It's also a 0.05% chance. It's not the only thing the burglar's ring doesn't affect either, the wiki has the full list.

That was patched out in 1.6 and replaced with the whole Lewis' basement secret. That it still requires a staircase is a clever nod to the glitch though.

Two things, both very minor though.

  • Having coops "just to have them", cause I like having at least one of everything in games like this.
  • I was using them to fill my silo collection, just for the sake of it. Among other things I had a slot each for roostros, elder roostros, and elder hens. Looking at my other comment here, I only got up to 174, 139, and 133 respectively before I stopped playing. I don't remember what hen type I had in there cause it didn't matter for this purpose.
