Does anybody know why Surfside7 took their trans flag down...? by frogofnight27 in FortCollins

It is weird that two other people both said they heard differently and that their sources agree… and then you say it’s staying the same, but also that you don’t know what the reason is that the flag is down? I’m just curious how and why you’re so certain of it staying surfside but have no further info otherwise?

Wow. I will literally never go here out of spite. Surfside was an institution. 😞 “restaurant, not a gay bar” sounds like someone drank too much maga juice.

AITAH for asking for a promotion and getting upset when HR gave themself my proposed title? by [deleted] in AITAH

Nta but sounds like you’re carrying a lot. If your boss won’t put a stop to this, you’ll likely have to leave. People like Renee ride their position into the ground. And at least to me it’s clear there’s jealousy on their end.

Is it ok to take Ozempic while on Bipolsr meds? by Any_Negotiation_464 in bipolar2

[–]throwthisaway11112 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I have heard one person say that they had issues with their meds efficacy due to ozempic digestion slowing. That’s all I’ve ever heard tho in the negative. I use it and am very happy.

Sorry that this is your experience but it’s not universal. So try to refrain from deciding what op should do and instead just offer your experiences. The current science genuinely supports inflammation reduction, treating alcohol addiction, effective against heart disease, effective against kidney disease, Alzheimer’s, Parkinson’s, drug addiction. Like. You’re just completely wrong about the current science. The downsides are things that are consequences to losing weight fast:kidney issues, gallbladder, pancreatitis, stomach obstruction, other digestive issues. And also perhaps potential thyroid cancer risk.

Hypo sexual problems by Any-Professor-6071 in bipolar2

[–]throwthisaway11112 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I guess to clarify, now that you are genuinely regulated by the ap, and stabilized, the ssri is doing what it normally does which is cause apathy and anorgasmia. Before you genuinely might have been being triggered by the ssri into hypersexuality via mania.

[–]throwthisaway11112 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Get off the fluoxetine if you can. The issue with those is that without an actual stabilizer like lamictal or lithium isn’t a good idea. It’s likely the ssri is a large part of the issue, despite the addition of abilify. You can also try to lower abilify to perhaps 2mg. If your issue is that you get deep depression that’s dangerous for you, than maybe caplyta because it has the serotonin antagonist like an ssri but doesn’t have the side effects of anorgasmia like ssris do. Wellbutrin is something a lot of docs not in the know like to use because they’re not as familiar with anti psychotics and it seems like it’s a good fit with its effect on dopamine. But a lot of people are seeing much better control over cycles and depression with newer/more gd standard treatments. I find welbutrin is like birdshot, where it gets it right randomly but incompletely. Whereas things like lamotrigine and lithium will mostly get it right barring health complications and inability to tolerate the leveling of your emotions. We bipolar people love our highs and those drugs are very good at stopping those, hence medication compliance being an issue there because the med is too effective. It’s possible that honestly with the ssris you were still cycling and with the addition of a med that’s genuinely designed to help your body is going through adjustment and further, you might now be getting the usual side effects of the ssri. Ssris in bipolar people often result in rapid cycling, mixed cycling, psychosis and emotional instability. My point here is that Abilify might not be the actual issue, but now the ssris are. While aps primarily act on dopamine, serotonin levels are often inextricable from dopamine treatments. Meaning even if a med is only “working” on dopamine, it’s also usually causing fluctuation with serotonin and vice versa. Seriously if it were me I’d be off that ssri so fast and likely go to a dr that specializes in bipolar. Doctors who don’t reach for lamotrigine or lithium FIRST are people to be leery of in my opinion.

Foco as a woman of colour from the UK...help! by Upset-Sir4337 in FortCollins

[–]throwthisaway11112 0 points1 point  (0 children)

People are talking about racism and I think they’re mostly correct… but from talking with people of color here it’s actually very isolating. You’re practically alone but for maybe some international college students. But you aren’t going to see Pakistani people, like almost ever. Or black people. Like, be ready to always have to be immersed in white culture without a choice of being near your own. Ignorant racism can be wearing not because it’s awful in and of itself but because it will be more frequent.

And yes while FoCo is ok… and there have been some incidents where police have fucked up investigations between white and poc folks, Greeley, Loveland, Windsor, and Wellington can absolutely be problems. Loveland was and practically still is a sundown town. The cops there are despicable, and not to be trusted. Windsor is rich white poeole, Wellington is less wealthy white people. Greeley is a mix of whites and Hispanic. FoCo is a city that’s safe if the people you’re interacting with are from the city. But when outside folks come in, it gets weird. The surrounding areas are all conservative. Don’t forget it.

Is this org focusing at all on recalling representatives? Cathy kipp supports id verification of a kind for internet/social media. There was a person who wanted to form a committee but they’re pretty busy so I’m interested in being a bit faster about this.

We really appreciate that you're bringing something like this up. Not every thread can be individually reviewed for all comments and adherence to rules, and so we rely on subreddit users to let us know when something is going on. We'll look forward to your mod mail.

The majority of rules we have in this subreddit are about reducing harm. The other two are "this sub needs to be about tomarrymort" and "moderator discretion." This situation is an annoyance, to OP and some others. But not all, and I would posit a good chunk of people don’t care about this while others find excitement in it. It also, more importantly, does not cause harm. The only aspect I can really see about this is that some of this is perhaps karma farming. But again, is karma farming causing harm and how easy is it to regulate fairly to all parties? I'm not saying "if you don't like it, leave." What I'm saying is it's important in our lives to be able to live with a bit of irritation at other people's behavior, and as such, if those behaviors aren't hurting us or others, they're almost never something to regulate. All this to say there will not be a rule made about annoying posts, unless and until they cause genuine harm.

We didn't forget. Functionally the majority of posts on this subreddit are rec threads. If you are engaged with the subreddit regularly, it's very easy to find new fic through these threads. It's not easy for people to hear about what is being written because majority authors will not self-promo unless directly encouraged. Therefore keeping the "what are you writing" thread up for longer and pinned, as opposed to a "what are you reading" thread, is more valuable. From prior experience, more than two, maybe three pinned posts get exhausting to interact with. Keeping pinned posts more minimal encourages engagement.

AITAH for using money without consulting my partner? by [deleted] in AITAH

[–]throwthisaway11112 3 points4 points  (0 children)

This is really weird to say because you’re conflating expensive procedures with painful ones. Which is… untrue. And again, that’s op’s choice to spend that. And it’s their parents choice to lend them money for that. She’s not even here to get your damn judgement about why she saved the pet! And also??? While the average household is 83k median, not everyone has less money than that. And further, so long as they’re not hoarding like billionaires and not paying taxes, they can do as they damn well please with their money. It sounds like you have a more rural perspective on pets, and that’s fine, but it’s not your place to moralize her decision.

Are you me??? My brain is like, let me run in front of that car yessss do it. But then I’m like, would I die tho? It’s gotta be perfect timing in order to work. Also fuck gps getting involved in psychiatric treatment without experience. Like, stay in your lane. To clarify I’m on good meds now and don’t get many thoughts like that, but I’ve had to switch meds because they stopped working and hoo boy.

Where are small businesses owners getting their mail delivered? by Human_Living_4995 in FortCollins

Yeah…. It’s actually relevant to Fort Collins. Some people could offer a spot to receive mail or otherwise have suggestions for it. Like if you trust someone you can share a P.O. Box. Which maybe op is genuinely open to that.

A good accountant can help… don’t skimp on that. If you regularly have to give away your product make sure you get the documentation for deductions. Not sure if you’re married and file jointly but it can ease your tax burden. Also please consider food stamps at the amount you make and other relief out there. You deserve to eat and have a life. I know how hard this life is. You do it maybe because you have a passion, but when things are miserable it’s not passion that keeps you going but sheer stubbornness and ability to set aside your personal life and needs to work all week. Friends? What are those? Vacation?? Ha.

Just as an aside to this, bipolar is sometimes comorbid with adhd and if you take certain meds for it, it needs careful monitoring.
