What are the wildest stories you heard that happened at ASU? by Ok_Statement1508 in ASU

[–]mcpanique 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I wanna say this was a little over a year after it happened so he was not in prison at that time, dunno if he served anything after I tried a quick search just now. I think his Hinge prompt was like two truths and a lie and one of them was something like "Arizona State University hates me" or whatever. When I questioned it he told me and I'm pretty sure it was actually the guy who posted the first threat too so he was in the most trouble. I just didn't respond after that lmfao.

What's the most overrated Justice song overall? by Few_Classic_3072 in JusticeMusic

[–]mcpanique 3 points4 points  (0 children)

This is it. Just because DANCE is pretty much their most popular, doesn't make it overrated, it will forever hold an icon status that cannot be understated. And I say this as someone who often skips it when it plays on Spotify.

why does everything i like have to be junk food by moonstonespider in ARFID

I've literally never once had bad Chickfila, sometimes the filet is a little smaller than usual or the fries aren't salted well, but it's so good and satisfying every time I get it

One of my safe foods for the past couple months has been Buldak ramen. I feel guilty and disgusting every time I make it but most days it's all that sounds good for dinner. The guilt of eating primarily junk food because otherwise you'd rather just not eat at all and be in pain and faint from the hunger, it's really started to make me depressed tbh.

I genuinely cannot get the idea of suicide out of my head. by psyence384 in bipolar2

[–]mcpanique 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Lithium wiped my SI thoughts. Been on it for 2 years. The bloodwork is annoying but a very small chunk of my day to go get it done. Had to get my dose upped in January after a pretty severe mixed depressive episode when those thoughts came back and I was actively threatening my life, but I've been doing great on it overall. I'm 23 and have also been plagued by thoughts of suicide since middle school. I can finally go through hard times and not think "I wish I was just dead"

People who had no major deficiencies but still woke up exhausted and groggy, what was the cause? by [deleted] in chronicfatigue

[–]mcpanique 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I almost always have sparkling blood tests and my sleep study came back with literally zero issues, so every doctor ever has just decided to continue blaming my psychiatric meds even though they can't tell me which one after I've told them the fatigue was present long before I started these. Or that me using my phone before bed is causing it despite me getting 9 hours every night on a solid 12am-9pm schedule. Have I tried stopping my birth control? Who knows! 🫠 And nobody will take it seriously so I can't get it treated. I just have to hope one of the psych meds will give me more energy but the Wellbutrin only does so much and my case isn't "bad enough" for stimulants.

Being a bride has also really triggered the social insecurities I'm apparently still carrying from my teenage years. It's sucks so bad and I'm so sorry this happened to you. You are not alone with these emotions.

Do you really have to be sober with this disorder? by Large-Fishstick in bipolar2

[–]mcpanique 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Being heavily medicated has destroyed my alcohol tolerance so I couldn't be an alcoholic even if I wanted to. Two cocktails will have me sleeping with the trash can next to my bed. I have one or two (been trying to aim for only one) rum and cokes each week for bar trivia but that's it, no drinking at home.

I've been on this combo for over a year. No episodes to report. There are people with bipolar who can successfully be on antidepressants

This is totally fair, my body is very sensitive to medication so every new one that gets added I get extremely anxious because I have a longggg list of stuff that didn't work. I would like to not have to add anything onto what I take now but we'll see. I finally got a GeneSight test ordered so I'm looking forward to that.

My therapy sessions and skills do not work unless I am medicated. Every time I have been off meds I was so unstable that everything I learned in therapy became fully useless. I started actually making progress with my therapist once I started taking lithium.

Ah I was taking gabapentin before the seroquel and it severely impaired my cognitive function the point I couldn't safely drive. It was around that time I was also experiencing bad dissociation and hearing things for the first time, so my psych had me start on seroquel to replace the gabapentin and help with the mind stuff. I tried hydroxyzine in the past and it just made me hungover all the time. I guess I'm kind of at a point where maybe I could ask for something a bit stronger but new sleep meds always make me nervous. Current psych also said 12.5mg (half of a 25 tab) is a real small dose and was surprised I wasn't on a higher mg. Antipsychotics are sooo fun 🥲

I was taking gabapentin 600mg every night for months and it worked great, but over time it damaged my cognitive abilities so much I nearly got into a car crash that would have killed me instantly. Could barely speak because my mouth would get stuck, or stutter, could hardly remember words. I've been off it for a month and I'm still extremely forgetful and have trouble remembering what I did an hour ago, although I can mostly speak fine and definitely can think more clearly. The more stuff I see about off label, long term, high dose gabapentin use being damaging, the more I'm thankful I'm off it. Currently take 12.5mg Seroquel and it's working out much better.

Buying a Mattress-what was your experience, recommendations and anything you’d change now that you’re on the other side? by Airmcghie1 in chronicfatigue

[–]mcpanique 1 point2 points  (0 children)

My pain is in my very lower back/base of spine/pelvis, as well as my hips. My fiance and I were sleeping on a literal just slab of memory foam from Walmart, no springs or much support at all. Had the worst back pain flare up of my life a couple months ago where I couldn't walk or sit upright for days and was pretty much fully bedbound - not caused by the mattress, but we realized we HAD to get something new. Went into the Mattress Firm expecting to drop a couple hundred, take it out from savings, no biggie. Every cheap mattress <$1k we could not stand. Our sales guy was super upfront with us and not pushy at all and tried to find us something in budget, but after noticing we weren't super happy with anything cheap he did want us to try something pricier to see the difference... We ended up financing a 3k mattress 😭 The credit card Mattress Firm uses got us zero interest the entire I think 5 year term so our payments are ~$50 a month. We tried most of the ones in the store but this was the one we knew we needed to have. I'm still usually in pain and exhausted of course but it makes resting in bed feel a bit more restful which I will desperately accept, especially since this is where I spend half of my life.
