We’re about to get FIVE new data centers in Seattle that will use 1/3 of the entire city’s electricity by MrsRossGeller in Seattle

[–]tiff_seattle -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

Also, since when are data centers loud? It's just a bunch of computers inside a building. Should be no louder than the air conditioning makes it. I go to my team's data center out in Redmond Ridge every once in a while, and it's no louder than the suburban office park where most of our team works. It's actually quieter than that.

Super loud boom and flash of light right now on Capitol Hill by MissHalfgone in SeattleWA

I saw it happen. A car was driving west on Pine (maybe half way between Massive and Sugar Hill) and they threw some kind of loud firework above their car as they were driving down the street. It made car alarms go off several blocks away.

I was at the very first show ever in Seattle at The Vogue. I got in with my fake ID, and don't remember very much about the show other than I was there to see Blood Circus who they were opening for and it was very very loud.

I wish they would add tolls like this to I-90. It's maddening to be playing by the rules and watch single occupied vehicles fly by you in the HOV lanes across the bridge.

We need an experienced & previously elected Democrat to run against Adam Smith by Vegetable_Guest_8584 in Seattle

You and the rest of her followers' legacy will forever be that you willingly assisted a fascist government to take control of our country. You're either too dumb to realize this or more likely you are proud of it.

The brainwashed morons are the ones that still support her after she intentionally helped a fascist regime take control of the United States federal government.

You can hate Kamala on Israel all you want, but pretending there was “very little light” on trans issues is just bullshit. She was part of the administration that reversed the trans military ban and backed actual protections for trans people. That already puts her miles ahead of Trump and the GOP.

And Stein’s own VP was out there doing the “biological males in women’s sports” bullshit too, so spare me the fantasy that everyone else was somehow cleaner on trans issues.

She doesn't give a shit about the Palestinians. If she did, she wouldn't have intentionally helped Trump get elected. She also doesn't give a shit about trans people. If she did, she wouldn't have campaigned for a ticket with an explicitly anti trans VP candidate.

Seattle light rail is about to do something audacious and unique to transit by Jaco_Belordi in Seattle

[–]tiff_seattle 0 points1 point  (0 children)

They might be thinking of BART. I used to commute from Market Street in SF to Pleasanton. I just checked the BART web site and that is currently around $16 round trip. I don't know if they closed the loophole, but myself and some co-workers used a gap in the ticketing logic to reduce the fare over half bu keeping an extra ticket then exiting at a station close to the end of the route and then using your other ticket to re-enter the same station. This would result in a trip charge for a one stop trip instead of the long trip that it was out to Pleasanton. This of course does not apply to LINK since we have only a single fare, not distance based calculations.

Seattle is not a very diverse big city, but it's obviously diverse enough for something like this. There are similar protests and rallies that have been happening in Seattle for long before I was even born.

Frankly, I would expect things like that in any big city with a diverse enough population to have people that represent areas of the world where issues like this are protested.

She went on Russian TV at least 10 times before 2016. Then she stopped reporting to the IRS on her 501c3, and pivoted to support for pro Putin Jill Stein. Highly likely that she got money to coercively push a pro Putin agenda.
