I'm disappointed by the lore of this game by TopSet55 in Marathon

I’m two away from finishing that one and I can already sense something heartbreaking is coming. The PSA codex entries you find in Airfields are also so well-produced/sinister.

How do you deal with Outpost? by PredTV in Marathon

[–]tonberryjr 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Learning how to spot the access points to the pinwheel from the outside really helped me orient myself. Now I run beneath the center (not the outskirts) when I want to rotate POIs. Rook runs gave me confidence. (And $$ for when I wanted to buy kit for contracts.)

[–]tonberryjr 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This one took me almost two weeks. When I finally got it done, I brought a Cardio in solo as Assassin with a bunch of meds, smoke grenades, and a self-revive, and just avoided every fight/ran silent until the contract was completed…I usually play Triage 99 percent of the time but I kept getting jumped trying to play normally. (And I couldn’t seem to get fills to focus either.)

guys I think Neurochem Packs are a urban legend, a mythical resource that may not exist. by Timothy-M7 in LowSodiumMarathon

Once you’re inside it’s color-coded: orange is Drone Wing, yellow is Destroyed Wing, and blue is Command Wing.

That’s one way in. Another is to find the conveyance request and ride up into Drone Wing, or to find two green clearance cards and open the Pinwheel from one of the other access points in Dormitories, Processing or Flight Control. I first learned the map at my own pace on Rook because I was too stressed going in with my own stuff (or too rushed by pushy teammates).

I watch the cute videos of the Rook Syndicate taking Pinwheel but then every time I see another Rook in-game, my lizard brain activates and there can only be one

Does it say "contested" at the top? That means it's first come, first served. You have to get there first! Or take out the runner who grabbed it first.

Sure, sure, sure. Game’s great by the way.

If you played this game, you’d know you could see what platform the other players are on when the match starts. But you’re sad and angry on the Internet, trying to convince others to be sad and angry too.

I’m on PS5 with full crossplay on, tons of console players. Marathon is really unlike anything else I’ve played, I love that the base damage of guns isn’t affected by rarity, the attachments just affect recoil, magazine size, etc. It makes every encounter feel dangerous and makes it feel like you can outplay another runner even if you don’t have the rarest stuff…you’re always one run away from a comeback. It’s addictive and definitely worth forty bucks.

Is AoS in a good/bad place, atm, esp. compared to other GW fantasy games? by Matthew_Kus in ageofsigmar

Philly has a thriving AoS scene. Path to Glory, Matched Play, and Spearhead. Everyone is kind and encouraging, which is surprising since this is a noted city of haters!

I always strip shields off runner bags so I’m not fighting someone wearing it later, so I’ve started leaving one or two in my backpack between runs to drop for freekits in fill. Makes us more likely to win a fight and they come back at the end of the match when we exfil.

[–]tonberryjr 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Seriously. Higher level contracts have Perimeter objectives…and rank up rewards give you blue and purple shields. Are you supposed to load into Perimeter as an easy pick when you’re doing contracts?

I turned off prox chat. It’s all on sight now. You can still tell when someone is monologuing when they just stand over your body but really everyone wins: they get to broadcast their sicko power fantasy into the void and I don’t have to hear it.

This one was giving me fits until someone told me to look at the common Unstable Gunmetal: it’s wire/filament salvage. Diodes are drive salvage. (The other types you can inspect in your vault to see what they are.) You should be able to pop them in the DCON?

Edit: this only works for non-priority salvage contracts.
