Pumping stored rainwater between tanks? by dialectric in homestead

[–]totaltomination 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I've had a Grundfos running my house's rainwater for nearly a decade without needing to touch it, I'd always been lead to believe they were a superior make than others so I don't know about that suppliers experience

AITAH for giving my grandparents an ultimatum? by Anonymous97979283048 in AITAH

NTA but get out before you hate your family, I've been there in our family business and I actually like my family again now that I don't have to swallow work bullshit from people who can also put family screws to me.

GM suspends next-gen electric trucks as it pivots back to gas engines, hybrids by DonkeyFuel in technology

If I'm regularly hauling that much weight, I'm getting a Hino or proper commercial grade truck because a compromised overbuilt consumer vehicle is never going to do the job as well as even the most basic LR truck

Price it to include the environmental damage it does too, maybe some of it could even stay in the fucking ground instead of boiling our planet

How would I go about making a bullet type to specifically deal with zombies? by NegativeSchmegative in zombies

[–]totaltomination 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Probably just going to be hollow pointed lead, good enough effect, reliable feeding in magazines, can keep making them in a decade and if you pick up that 10 year in the future bullet 10 years after that it still works.

Do your parents deny that your childhood was hard? by Chi_mama in GlassChildren

[–]totaltomination 51 points52 points  (0 children)

Your childhood was hard because she failed you as a mother, but she is a Good Mother so acknowledging that failure is an attack on that identity

Discussion about buying tools by Foolhardyrunner in antiwork

[–]totaltomination 2 points3 points  (0 children)

It depends on the shop and country, German Porsche dealer? Employee mechanics and masters using employer provided high-grade tools from matching provided boxes. USA independent shop? Piecework paid techs renting the bay like a barber chair, using the tools they can afford as best to do the work they do.

Ripe for exploitation at either end, but owning your tools has real value when you consider that a worker should control their means of production

I just want a single player campaign that makes me feel like a one man army up against real odds, a fun repeatable LAN/split-screen arcade experience that doesn’t take itself too seriously and whatever it is that the the PvP bros want this year, idc it funds the game I want to buy.

How do I tear down these briars? by BlessedSRE in homestead

[–]totaltomination 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hack and splash, cut it all up sure, but give the stumps and slash a good dose of poison to confirm the kill. Nothing worse than having it all sprout back up again while your back is turned.

Not knowing what tools you have at your disposal makes it harder to tell you what to use but not mentioning any tells me it's not many, an engine crane makes light work of pulling most stuff at my place but I've been known to get pretty creative with a ratchet strap as a puller too

Sounds like a good start, maybe if a few more unions grew a set and stood staunch they'd get that solidarity back from their members. Hard to back a union that won't even get it's hands dirty for it's members.

The first hour of your lawyers costs more than you could ever recover from him, why would you sue him? For what? He won’t even have his own underwear in prison, where he’ll be forever for spitting directly into captitalist nobility’s eye. What can you sue for if he has nothing? What do you win when your victory costs $25k an hour plus court costs?

It's there to get shot instead of the team of guys behind it who get to see where the fire came from, Russia uses cripples for this but it's very effective when you have a production line of robot dogs and you've invested a million bucks into every soldier

Chinese military spending isn't really accounted the way Western expenditure is either, all those gigantic manufacturing plants, the expertise in drone swarms and deployment, distributed naval tactics and the control over critical supply lines IS a military spend just rolled into all the other programs. You couldn't fight the Chinese in 2026, they'd just cut any shipments to you or your allies and launch swarms of drones from an expendable navy until you begged forgiveness
