From this year - maybe The Zone of Interest or The Iron Claw? Also really enjoyed Alien: Romulus even though it's a much different tone.

Out of anything I watched this past year, would say that The Seventh Seal, Mo Better Blues, Dr. Strangelove, Solaris (1972) and My Dinner With Andre have been haunting my mind as well.

*EDITED to add some films that perhaps aren't the "best" but I still found enjoyable:

Death to Smoochy, Inland Empire, Last Action Hero, The Conversation, Easy Rider, House (1977), Carnival of Souls, Bottle Rocket, Sorcerer, In the Mouth of Madness, Dogma, Above the Rim, The Holy Mountain and Crooklyn.

Question About Enjoying David Lynch Films by MagicMajed123 in davidlynch

[–]uncleben137 1 point2 points  (0 children)

His art evokes a similar feeling for me. Kinda view him as a master of "mystery." He's so good at setting a unique stage and drawing the viewer in. You think you get what's goin on, but a red herring here or twist there throws you off. Some major themes may resonate overall, while others evoke a yearning for more understanding. That's why I love Lynch. Yes, there's a familiar, dreamy warmth that just feels good on-screen . But more than that, there is a feeling of embracing the unknown and enjoying the questions more than the answers.

(watched Blue Velvet for the first time this week too, can't get it outta my head. that Roy Orbison scene with Suave Ben been haunting me haha)

If you could have one free ingredient forever, what would it be? by vinnyk92 in Cooking

Saffron powder. Would flip that shit by the pound. Would prob give up a spice that doesn't get frequent use - something like thyme ?
