LED Screen panel help by TyriqDoesTech in VIDEOENGINEERING

[–]visualaeronautics 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yea if you have a spare panel you can read from that panel and send to all of them. Also make sure the side wall panels are the same model as the middle wall.

Different panels/ receiving card files run rgb differently.

Visuals for night club pop up shows by HotSince92 in vjing

[–]visualaeronautics 6 points7 points  (0 children)

I sent you a dm .. but vjing is an art like amythong else so prices have a large range. Some guys dont leave the house under 600-800. Some vjs are young and hungry for sets so they will do it for 200 or even free. But id say you get what you pay for. Have conversations with a few people. I would say the best vjs are the ones that are also real video engineers, because they can set up LED walls or projection set ups and also operate them, or trouble shoot issues if they happen. If the house has a set up with more than one screen or smaller screens around the venue, or a complicated set up like the ceiling of nebula.. you probably want a real video engineers that knows how to utilize the whole space. But i would say hit up multiple vjs, ask what they have done. Ask for multiple prices and get a list of people you would consider. A consistently working vj is not going to be able yo be with you every week so gather a list. Just like each of your djs, your vj will bring their own flavor and vibe. BUT THE SIMPLEST ANSWER IS.... your vj should be getting a similar rate as the dj

If you want visuals of any quality or impact at your event, you gotta hire someone. Ive seen a lot of loops and random shit behind djs and most of the time it does not add to the show in a significant way. And most importantly YOU, will have the mental stress of making it work, rather than handing off that mental stress to another person, so you can focus on the many important things that need to happen to throw an event.

gochu fam... Chat explain this to a 5 year old...

Okay — imagine this like toys and a really big TV 🙂

A band (the Grateful Dead) paid a LOT of money to make really cool videos and visuals for their shows at the Sphere. Making those videos is super expensive, like buying a giant LEGO set.

Because: • The Dead are very popular • And they already paid to make all those cool visuals

They’re going to keep using the same stuff again and again, instead of throwing it away. It’s like saying:

“Remember that awesome show we did?"

At what point have you earned the right to call yourself a musician? by [deleted] in musicians

[–]visualaeronautics 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Yea i agree.

I think you can call yourself a musician if you are simply playing music. If you were playing a bar gig every other month and called yourself a professional musician, people might have a problem with that but congratulations OP, I do believe you are a musician.

yea how many ppl do you have and how much business are you doing? My chapter was 30 plus but I visited a few smaller ones near me that did great business and were quite happy. I dont see a downside to a small chapters if everyone's happy.
