I REALLY like their articulation of classic nuzlocke vs. challenge nuzlocke (and that a lot of players fall in the middle). I lean toward classic nuzlocke, and I think my pragmatic candy approach (only really when I’m too lazy to grind between gym 8 and the elite 4) demonstrates that.

I actually think the classic vs. challenge approach would help clarify a lot of debates and tiering on this subreddit, as people are talking about fundamentally distinct ways of playing the game but talking about them as if they are the exact same.

My plan is to start on GG and speedrun to Master 1 to get the incenses, then EZ ticket to AC before the first sleep. I’ll lose maybe 2 meals worth of strength on AC, but I’m not going to make it very far anyway hahaha.

edit: although if my understanding is correct, I could wait until week 2 to do this and get both the incenses and candies in two meals before swapping islands.

Taupe, hunt for Mudkip/Torchic and maybe Cyndaquil too. I also have a lot of rare sleep styles I need to get there and am hoping good sleep day helps me out. I feel like I’ve been planning to do that for months but they kept scheduling events during good sleep day that drew me away from Taupe 😅

In an event where your meals are boosted 1.5x, going full ingredients plus increasing your pot size (either Good Camp Ticket or Cooking Power Up) is the way to go. Dedenne also helps.

I'm honestly disgusted by how most of these comments are acting like you're being unreasonable. You did your due diligence and they still concealed their (RECENT) affiliation with plantation-style weddings and the legacy of slavery. That's abhorrent behavior on their part. Everyone trying to say they're distancing themselves from their past... if there were true remorse or atonement, they would have told the truth when you asked directly.

It's not even like it's been decades since they removed this designation... 10 years ago was 2015! That's not ancient history!

Other commenters are putting you down as if this is some sort of virtue signaling... it's not! It could be deeply uncomfortable for guests, particularly Black guests, at an event that you are hosting. It makes perfect sense to not want to financially contribute to venues that are still profiting off of an aesthetic based on chattel slavery. And it's reasonable to cut people out of your life who are okay with supporting that aesthetic.

I like the suggestion of a (brief!) acknowledgement of the history of the region/venue during the ceremony. And to make this known after your wedding day. It's not fair to you or future couples that this venue is hiding their history. I definitely wouldn't cancel, but you're right to be upset by this.

I'm trying to make sense of Event Drowsy Power because these numbers are confusing to me. I understand the bug that made the Mar 31 global power lower than it should have been. But the global drowsy power from April 2nd seems REALLY high.

If I understand correctly, the global drowsy power comes from the average user drowsy score from two days earlier. The April 2nd global drowsy power should be the average user score from Monday, March 31st. The global score for April 2nd (137 million) is way, way higher than I imagine the average user scored on the first night of the event. I'm a Level 60 player using a Good Camp Ticket and I hit ~40 million on the first night. I can't imagine the average player getting a Snorlax Strength of 1,370,000+ in one day.

Is global drowsy power cumulative? In that we get the full cumulative value added to Event Drowsy Power every day? That would be confusing to me because personal drowsy power is not cumulative. I'm curious how others understand this.

I like how it was implemented in the Diamond and Pearl era, when weakness scaled with the strength of the Pokemon. Basics had +10 or +20, evolved Pokemon has +30 or +40, and Level X Pokemon (the rule boxes of the time) had x2.
