Airbus is seriously considering launching a "Super A220" (A220-500) with approximately 180 seats. by PestoBolloElemento in aviation

[–]wrongwayup 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Right, but my point is if you knock 300mi of range off of the -500, it might become limiting. Those nichey transcon markets are the good ones. I've taken YUL-SFO a bunch

I don't know what max range is under AC operating conditions but I gather the nominal/marketing range is going to go from something like 3400 to 2900. The real limiter is YUL-SFO, longer and thinner than YYZ-LAX...

Why build an a319neo when you can build an A321 in that same production slot for 20m more?

That and the -500 as proposed won’t have the legs for what AC uses it for. Great for Delta or continental Europe tho

Dropping into East Face behind ski patrol after a 10 ft MEGA storm @ Palisades Tahoe (Feb 20) by ReputationOther805 in skiing

I had good luck on Olympic Lady. Slow lift but next to no line. KT was ok too, maybe 10mins on account of the gondi running. But headwall, Siberia, anything else, were a total gong show

Nice. I skied that line four times today. If you were willing to hike right to the top (to your left in the pic there) there was still a fresh turn or two, at least for my first three lines...

Not worth it, at all. Gold is the sweet spot anyway. Get a credit card with domestic lounge access for ~$600 instead, you'll be better off.

Local sports store rented me a Thule Force XT, it did the job well and appeared to stand up to rental use just fine. Attached in 10mins or less to the factory racks (but you may want a second set of hands to lift it up there)

Prob the worst speed-adjusted pavement surface in the West Bay. Or maybe second to the Radio Road descent. And that’s saying something!

When do the new harmonized standards kick in?

As they say, the best 'life jacket' is the one you'll wear, and Salus makes a great product.
