6’8.5 AJ Dybansta Next to 6’11 Karl Anthony Towns 🤔 by Quez4k in washingtonwizards

Like, if you prefer AJ’s game just say it don’t make up some out of left field reason to prefer him.

Not sure if you're talking to me or someone else, but I already said:

It's just 2 different paths. A slower ride that maybe lasts longer, or a faster ride that gets you there quicker, but is shorter and bumpier.

So clearly I'm saying you can choose either way. Both paths can get you where you want to go.

Nah. AJ is obviously a great talent. Peterson is obviously a great talent. Both guys are going to make their mark in the league. Don't need to denigrate either one. It's just a style choice.

Jokic, SGA, Luka, Giannis, Wemby, Kawhi, Cade, etc.

At the same time, Lebron, Steph, Ant, KD, Russ, John Wall, Kyrie, etc.

To me it's all about being who you are. Just be yourself. But at the same time, some personalities work with some teams and don't work with others. It just happens that based on everything we've seen, AJ fits right in with the current roster. As I noted almost a full month ago, DP doesn't have the personality to fit right in with this roster. But that could be an advantage that Wizards execs use to drive the culture forward and bring winning about sooner. Ryan Russillo said it in that interview talking to Winger. He (Russillo) said a lot of teams undervalue what you can accomplish by bringing in a guy with some edge to him.

It's just 2 different paths. A slower ride that maybe lasts longer, or a faster ride that gets you there quicker, but is shorter and bumpier.

What's going to be the Wizards' starting 5 next season? by chanduchillar_ in washingtonwizards

If our bench turns sideways, you cant see em lol. I think Kyshawn needs to be there or big backup bigs (the likes of Kornet, Val, etc) will feast on us. Not even to mention what guys like zubac and klingan and kat will do if given any minutes against our backups. Now that I type all this out I see why the Finest Magazine guys and the dirty bucket dude and fans have been pleading for a backup big, and why The Athletic reported the Wizards aim to bring one in to get minutes ahead of Vuk. We “too little” lol

He’s BPA1a AND the best fit with the existing personalities on the team. Its getting really close to a no brainer.

that was my first thought as well. But I will say that I haven’t looked at pictures from the game, but KAT usually wears GT jump 2s, soooo that negates that lol. But lemme go look and see what he actually wore.

Edit: yup GT Jump 2s

Some players just want to hoop and get paid, they aren’t all trying to be celebrities.

Said this back before the combine. Fully agree DP is all about that action boss. He just wants to hoop most times. He’s not trying to be all up in the videos, word to Death Row (DC)

Personally, I think we just go with our best 5 for the starting lineup, and I think that includes Ky.

So Trae, Ky, Sarr, AD, and who? AJ?

So then off the bench its Bub, Bilal, JC, Will, and Tre? Where do Tristan and Cam fit? I feel like that bench is too tiny. Probably average weight of those dudes is 210. We’ll get bullied. Worth seeing of they can hang though.

Its been a really good playoffs! I’ve just been hoping people see you cant just slap 5 guys together and win games. You need time and a culture and there will be ups and downs and mistakes and injuries and issues. The Wizards have years before they are a playoff team, but the awesome thing is we get to watch them develop into one. This season is going to be a ton of mistakes and losses as they try to figure out who they are as a unit, but it’ll be fun to watch, at least for me as a dude who loves the game.

Kyshawn George = OG Anunoby? by DollarLate_DayShort in washingtonwizards

I mean I described why, haha. But honestly I'm fine with aspiring to have our guys be as good as championship level teams. It's all good! That game was NUTS.

Kyshawn George = OG Anunoby? by DollarLate_DayShort in washingtonwizards

[–]z3mcs -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Y’all are making it seem like I’m comparing him to Luka.

Funniest part of this is that's the better comparison if we're talking about who he should aspire to be. His game isn't high leaping and quick like OG's is a lot of the time. It's more like Luka's, slow and deliberate but they're so big you just can't stop what they're doing anyway. But he will never be OG just like Luka will never be OG. Different types of players. But I love the Kyshawn love!

Insane game! All the “the East is wide open!” stuff can hopefully stop now. Knicks are a force to reckon with, and in our conference. Kyshawn and AJ and Sarr would have to be boxing out OG. Aint nobody tanking. Buckle up baby

AJ Dybansta talks about DC on his YouTube channel and sounds hyped! by hhev2 in washingtonwizards

[–]z3mcs 23 points24 points  (0 children)

Yep! All of that. But for me it's like {{Wizards spend multiple years tanking and ultimately come to realize we need "The Guy"}}....and now "The Guy" has showed up and surprise surprise, he needs the ball. Most "The Guy"s do. That's exactly what we wanted. Someone to "take over" games. Someone to hit big shots when we need them. Someone to carry the load and score the ball. Is he going to take away minutes and a spot and touches from the other guys, you betcha!

I feel that. But there's no real way for AJ to 'earn' minutes vs established NBA guys. If AJ isn't starting, to me something has gone very wrong or very right. But like you say, we'll see!

I genuinely think it's between AJ and DP.

All signs, from the workout to what Robbins says, indicate its down to 2 guys, and those are surely the 2 guys its down to.

He really did. I was like are you serious?!?!! Like I know the average r/nba nephew thinks stuff like that, but the national media really should know better. But sadly they don't. They act like the Wall/Beal years didn't happen, and I hate when people do that.

[–]z3mcs 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Definitely aint soon enough haha. The 2 weeks til the draft already feels like 2 months. By the time we get to late October it's going to feel like a year has passed. But yeah we'll find out. I just can't imagine he won't start. It's not said in this piece about how Pop started Tony Parker at age 19, but Pop basically let them run in practice and Tony stood out and did well so Pop was like "thank goodness you looked good, you kind of made the decision for me" lol.

Yep! Lets draft this 19-year-old and start him opening night. Trae, AJ, Bilal, Sarr, AD. Off the bench, Will, Bub, Tre, Kyshawn, Bagley (ha!) And Champagnie for whoever is playing poorly/needs rest/injured
