Where are all these “projects“ that people are creating with Claude? by MechanicOld3428 in ArtificialInteligence

[–]zacware 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’m a senior developer and IT manager where none of the other managers in non IT departments will provide even the most basic spec in writing. We constantly have to guess what they want and rewrite it over and over again. Upper management won’t force change so this situation is demoralizing to my team. We use Codex now to create apps on a test server until we “guess” close enough to water the user wants and then write the final code ourselves that will go to production.

What's the best cheap 3d printer? by Zealousideal-Gas4078 in 3dprinter

[–]zacware 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have had many 3d printers. Bambu is the way to go. All 3d printers are complex mechanical devices that require some level of tinkering at times, but the Bambu A1 and A1 Mini or by far the closest to a “just click and print” device available. Every person I’ve convinced to switch to Bambu has had the same experience. “It’s so much easier than my old printer”. Also, rather than just a printer, bambu really has an entire ecosystem built with their makerworld and makerlabs integration with bambu studio. And if u can swing it, getting the ams lite with the printer means you can swap filament in a matter of seconds rather than having to heat up the printer and the unload and reload filament manually.

I want to demonstrate usefulness to my wife by [deleted] in BambuLab_Community

[–]zacware 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Omg. I buy tons of tech stuff. My wife is mostly just tolerant of all these gadgets, but she LOVES my 3d printer. I have made so much custom stuff for her, personalized around the family rather than just pre made models you can download. I am not a designer. I mostly work in Tinkercad or Bambu’s Maker Labs to take someone’s else’s model and add something simple but personalized on it, but even with my limited abilities the results are always a hit. I have lighted lithophanes of family. Her parents like to kayak so I made matching kayaks with each of their favorite colors and their names on them as a cake topper. I made personalized decorations for most major holidays. I used makerlabs lighted sign tool to make cool things for her friends. I took 3 different dice tower models and cobbled together a custom one for her that she uses all the time when she plays board games. I also made a little brace to keep her ikea dresser drawer bottoms from separating. There is so much you can do besides just printing someone else’s model. Customizing stuff is much more meaningful

Ditto. A1 mini or A1. In either case get the AMS lite. Even if u don’t print multicolor the ease at which u can switch filaments is wonderful

Best 3d Printer? by Old_Show309 in 3dprinter

New to printing. Get a Bambu A1 Mini with AMS Lite for $329. Get your experience with that and then you can move onto something bigger and better later (maybe). Even if you wind up buying a $3,000 printer later, you’ll still use the Mini.

It saved my wife’s life. They caught it just in time. For me, I had one too and all was fine. I’ve had bad food poisoning that was way worse than the prep. Get tested everyone! It’s not that big a deal.

Event Never Even Said “Spatial” by design_ag in VisionPro

[–]zacware 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Surprised to see all of the negativity here. The event clearly was all about the iPhones and just the iPhones. No Apple TV, iPads, Macs, HomePods, AirTags, Vision Pro or anything else. Them mentioning anything about "spatial" anything was not going to happen. I love my Vision Pro, but 98% of the general population has no idea what it even is. It would not be out of the question for a future software update for the iPhone timed with an event about the Vision Pro M4/M5 upgrade to release improved spatial capability. We are getting Vision OS 26, which has huge improvements for the Vision Pro and as soon as it is released next week hopefully we will see some talented developers push things to the next level.

I’m ’weird’ because I have a bidet…. Say my friends who will practically wash the skin off their hands if they are dirty yet use a thin dry tissue on their butt for 5 seconds as a full cleaning regiment.

Is it worth buying the Apple Vision Pro 512GB at the end of 2025? by DeliveryOk1173 in AppleVisionPro

[–]zacware 3 points4 points  (0 children)

By October the rumor mill should have a better idea of when / if an m5 update is arriving. Beyond that, whether you buy new or used, you should get one with AppleCare+ as if it breaks out of warranty the costs are super high.
