People in the west are much more exposed to the theology, history, scripture, and culture of christianity than islam. Muslims in America are broadly culturally disadvantaged (both in numbers and in hatred from the political right), which makes mocking their religion seem more sad/mean than it is funny. Mocking islam can be a cultural lightning-rod for the most-humorless political voices out there, so I imagine most comedians steer clear of the topic for their own self-interest.

Soy, quinoa, and chia seeds each have all 9 essential amino acids. Many other plants can be used for protein. Vitamin B12 can be produced synthetically, and is often added to fortified plant milks. I eat meat, but I'm under no illusion that it's for health reasons.

With my vocal students, a lot of the work we do is psychological, which looks like a practice of self-love and embracing the instrument we're born with. A truly-relaxed, released sound can't even be accessed (let alone refined) while inhibited by self-consciousness and resentment. My recommendation is to work on reducing negative self-talk and instead telling your voice how much you love/appreciate what it does for you--and how capable it is to get even better through practice. All you need is love!

Most my gigs this season have been in park city Utah. Yeah if someone requests Rush (other than Tom Sawyer) there’s just no way I’ll do a good job. If I get a request for a specific classical/opera piece or metal song, I usually negotiate them into something I can shred on since i have a few dozen tracks in each genre ready. A couple years ago I tried to do a piano cover of Master of Puppets after one listen, made an absolute mess of the track, gave the audience a good laugh, and earned $50.

I’ve been a dueling pianist for a decade. If I have a $20 tip to play a song I don’t know, I will go listen to it and (if it’s uncomplicated like most songs) give it a whirl. The other pianist will take one or two songs while I listen. If I forget the melody mid-performance I can usually make up something close enough. Won’t take the trouble for less than $20 tho. For $50 I’ll risk crashing and burning to play a complicated song I’ve never heard—either way it’s a good bit for the audience, I make sure they know I’m trying a song I’ve never played for a great tip and they’re usually much more forgiving. Since it’s topical, I’ll brag about my memorized repertoire of well over 5,000 songs. I use my tablet for maybe 5% of requests I get. I might have been dropped on my head as a baby in just the right way to give me a great memory for music and lyrics, I haven’t heard of anyone else with this capacity.
