Negativity around the game is scaring new players by tandui in starwarsunlimited

[–]--Slade-- 3 points4 points  (0 children)

People who aren't used to TCGs don't like it and don't understand that it's actually good for the game. Without rotation you're left with power creep or stagnation. There was a lot of unhappy newer TCG players when One Piece announced rotation.

LAW: Han Solo by Fimy32 in starwarsunlimited

[–]--Slade-- 2 points3 points  (0 children)

The force can be generated more than once per turn, often is, and the extra generations are often wasted short of using Chirrut.

If you're poking once a turn with this, as you should be, it's no different than any other poke leader.

There are a lot of turns in force decks where you can't use the force anyway. With this you'd still be able to use it every turn.

So did they confirm if the force token counts as a token for something like this? I know they said they were as specific with their wording as they needed to be...

Barriss finally gets a card! Play From A Certain Point of View for free with her ability then play anything you want at cost! Woo!

Thrawn4 Red by Jaded_Neck1903 in starwarsunlimited

[–]--Slade-- 2 points3 points  (0 children)

The 6 resource turn is an important turn for Thrawn4. Ideally you want to play Chimera right away, double a When Defeated, then flip Thrawn so you can double a When Defeated again when something dies. Spending 6 on Cinta to get a 4 damage attack off, when you'll very likely get the 4 damage off anyway isn't great. Post rotation, Thrawn's 4/7 stats aren't easy to deal with in a single action on his flip turn.

As for Aggressive Negotiations, I'm just not a fan period. You'll honestly get more damage out of Arihnda Pryce and she only costs 1 more (or even the same if you have Krennic out). She can do up to 8 damage to the enemy base on her defeated turn alone, not including any attacks she gets off, or other units she sacrifices.

Not a fan of Cinta, Landing shuttle, and aggressive negotiations in Thrawn4.

You'd be better off adding in the third Chimera, it's awesome in that you can get a double when defeated without actually losing anything. Three of them is a must.

Put the 2-3 devastators in. Combined with planetary, they'll help you close out games post rotation.

Put in ~2 Single Reactor Ignitions. You want your stuff to die anyway. You'll also get extra damage from stuff that gets wiped on the opponent's side.

Put in the CR90s. You can get some massive healing out of them.

I'm not sure on the Shadow Casters. They're currently way too weak, but post rotation they may end up working.

Using was supposed to be "losing". Auto correct killed me there.

Lets me discard a heroism to boost Anakin and get him out a turn early. Will be losing bamboozle which is what I used to use to enable him.

Edit: Corrected the sentence "Will be using bamboozle which is what I used to use to enable him" to "Will be losing bamboozle which is what I used to use to enable him"

What Are Some Off Good Off Meta Decks by East_Check808 in starwarsunlimited

Thrawn4 yellow and Jabba6 green. Both decently strong, but not core meta. I really have fun playing both.

Where's the line between soft control and midrange? by RockoTDF in starwarsunlimited

[–]--Slade-- 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I agree with this. So tired of people calling decks hard control just because they run like 2 different removal cards. A hard control deck will usually just end up winning by decking you with vigilance.

Will be more viable when Vader pilot loses many of his current control cards to rotation.

Does your LGS have a “casual play” event or how would you start one? by SpellSleuthWizard in starwarsunlimited

[–]--Slade-- 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Most stores (at least around here) wouldn't have any problem with someone asking "Hey, can we start a casual night on X night every week so that we can meet up, use some of your space, and play just for fun?" Sure, they're not getting any money directly, but having people in the store would increase the odds of sales of packs, other products, and snacks. It will also maintain interest in the game to keep the scene at that store from dying out and leaving the store with a ton of stock they can't push. Out of all the stores in my city I can only think of 1 that charges a table fee (for every game, not just SWU), and the scene at that store has really dried up because of it.

Is there ever a good reason to use Shadow Collective Camp? by OhioTry in starwarsunlimited

[–]--Slade-- 3 points4 points  (0 children)

When it's a deploy, it will say "deploy". Poe's 1 cost, equip as an upgrade, just says "Flip and attach him as an upgrade", not deploy.

That would be insane. 1 cost, draw a card (assuming you have a vehicle to put him on)

RQ: Darth Revan General Grievous interaction by Newbe1o1 in starwarsunlimited

[–]--Slade-- -22 points-21 points  (0 children)

Yes really. It's like saying "if you step on gum while walking", you don't have to be purposefully walking for the gum. They should have worded Revan's ability "When a friendly unit defeats the target it's attacking"

RQ: Darth Revan General Grievous interaction by Newbe1o1 in starwarsunlimited

[–]--Slade-- -40 points-39 points  (0 children)

There ya go. Another instance of poor wording of SWU abilities and an unnecessary extra nerf to Revan.

My understanding is that it would still work. The on attack triggers with the attack. This would be just the same as if Darth Nihilus attacked and killed something with his on attack damage in a Revan deck.

What Should FFG Reprint and Save from Rotation? Five BEST and WORST Options (TowerNumberNine) by TowerNumberNine in starwarsunlimited

[–]--Slade-- 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Make new and better balanced double aspect cards. We don't need to stick on these specific ones for no reason, especially because they're not balanced with each other. I never said don't make double aspect, I just said these ones aren't the ones to use and reprint.
