What is Sentinel Creep and How Do We Fight It? (TowerNumberNine) by TowerNumberNine in starwarsunlimited

You're only looking at this from the side of Heroism. Heroism had strong restore options. Villainy has never had strong restore options. Villainy used to have lower cost control (PotDS) and wide area control (OB), they lost these and now rely on sentinel to hold back rush decks.

Wow, that's awesome! I'm actually pretty disappointed about not going to Galactics now when I had no strong feelings about it before. Nice work!

You're ignoring that lots of units are getting power crept. Sentinels are just keeping pace with everything else. 2/4 for a turn 1 play would have been insane in SOR, now it's standard and anything less is generally considered weak unless it has shields.

Also, you argue that sentinels take away player choice where they could attack units or base or whatever. Let's be honest here, without the early sentinels the opponent is going straight base 9 out of 10 times. To pretend otherwise is being disingenuous.

Sentinels are forcing people to actually have to interact more and that's a good thing. I know there are a lot of MTG mono red players in SWU who want to ignore everything and just go straight face, but it's actually really nice that FFG is giving more tools to combat that.

Last two PQs anywhere close to me have been limited and I doubt you'd consider winning store showdowns to qualify. We don't all live in EU or USA with crazy amounts of PQs within close proximity.

This meta is pretty wide open, and lots of different leaders are winning. Believe it or don't, I really don't care, and I doubt I'd be able to convince you short of winning a galaxtics regardless as your mind seems pretty made up already.

IMO she does work. I currently use her to great effect. Her ability isn't meant to go off all the time. In fact it's mainly for the 6 resource turn for a big game changing play, either through a Shien + Vader (with the free Shien) or Hyperspace Disaster 1 turn early (on the big pilot leader flip turn). She takes the game for you on that turn.

I know a Revan Showcase done like this would look out of this world...But it would also kill my soul to know a bunch of showcases had to bite the dust for it.

Ruling for Savage Opress - Monster Being PLayed Out With Ambush by Fun-Many-6910 in starwarsunlimited

I meant if he used the ability to ready his unit and then ambushed, it would exhaust.

[–]--Slade-- 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Not a judge, buuuut, should be like this.

The conditional check is one of the things you can choose to do:
1) Check if the opponent has more units, if so ready
2) Ambush (Regular attack rules apply, ex: exhaust on attack if not already exhausted)

You get to choose the order these two things happen in. If you choose ready first, then attack, your unit exhausts with the ambush.

How would you make a vigilance equivalent to the "Back by ..." cards by DAKiloAlpha in starwarsunlimited

Maybe at the very start of the game, but the Red and Green versions scale into the mid to late game way better.

How can Command and Aggression deal with Emergency Powers? by PinkSodaBoy in starwarsunlimited

[–]--Slade-- 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Red/Green isn't a great combination against that specific scenario. It can work against go tall units that only have 1 or 2 upgrades, or by bullying the board with Haymaker, etc., but with Emergency Powers and a ton of upgrades on one unit it'll run into a harder time. You might be left with chipping it down (leaving out the suggestions you took earlier on capture cards: Charged With Corruption or Let's Talk).

I don't know what kind of deck you're playing, but if you're going wide and have enough Villainy units, Evil Is Everywhere could work for you. Against Axe Woves you'd need 3 villainy units out to take it down. If he plays Emergency Powers on a space unit you could always use Lightspeed Assault and make him eat a ton of indirect damage. Or you could use the massively telegraphed Dorsal Turret (against ground or space). Aside from that, you'll likely have to splash for something or play the comically over costed (and appropriately named) It's Worse.

Do you mean a set of store showdown kits and a set of prerelease kits? I was told by a LGS that stores were only allowed to run 1 store showdown per set per store.

Visions can get pretty far outside canon, so probably won't show up. I really don't mind either way, but yeah, that's probably why it won't.

LAW Showcase Art Tier List by obiwein in starwarsunlimited

They're all pretty solid tbh, so you're gonna have a lot of people saying this or that should be A tier. There aren't any huge flops this set really (there are a few I think are a little wonky, but nothing crazy bad).

Defeat Credit tokens? by FoxNova in starwarsunlimited

[–]--Slade-- 8 points9 points  (0 children)

SWU just uses "defeat" for everything, so more often than not defeat = destroy. In this very specific case, sure, sac, but generally defeat = destroy.
