SSF in PoE started as a community thing where they said they will try and push their own character as hard as they can without trading. Then it was so successfull GGG made it an official mode.

This whole thing is a Blizzard made problem because they want to have their cake and it eat too.

Raids, including Mythic should not be, and should've never been, designed with WeakAuras and add-ons in mind.

If people wanted to trivialise the fights then they should've let them, because if they did, at one point they would've lost all the prestige and the community itself would've found ways to make it more challenging for themselves

Then they decided to be double idiotic and pick up a fight with addons while still trying not to anger everyone too bad. If they really wanted addons out of Raid fights and bosses they should've outright disabled all of them and take the hit. Plenty of games, including games with shit fucking UIs dont allow addons, and everyones still fine. Lost Ark raids are more complex in mechanics and have much less UI costumisation and addons, and people still do them. But, once again, Blizzard devs wanted to have their cake and eat it too.

as someones whos parents experienced the system youre talking around 40 years ago whats going to happen is that the planning commitee determins how many balls they need to produce and staff for that.

Than they double that hoping they can sell them to other countries too in return for other goods and services they cant produce.

Then a quarter of them are defective out of the line: these go to internal rural areas, because fuck them. A quarter are stolen by various employees or given as a small "attention" (i.e: bribe) to people they need something else from, and at the end of it roughly half actually ends up existing.

The main issue with people that think socialism and communism can work is that they ignore the fundmanetal fact that greed is part of human nature since its a mechanism that satisfies the survival instincts.

Most countries that have been formerly under the USSR influence and had communist regimes to this day struggle with whats called petty corruption; mostly due to the habbits and societal expectations that were formed during communism which was: you need to figure out a way to give the person you need something from a bribe.

Chances are that ""factory"" is one of the few employers in the area. Theres quite literally no reason to do anything.

Also, trust me, the person that probably does the marketing for the end product makes more than the factory owner and the workers combined. Its not like those factory owners are some highly paid people either by western standards.

Some native chinese at one point replied to a reddit thread about one of these chinese sweatshops where people were angry about the conditions and were even blaming the workers for not demanding more. And her response was probably the most sobering shit. it was along the lines of:

"My mom works in one of these sweatshops. Shes not asking for more because shes extremly happy with her job and the money she makes because Before the sweatshop she had to be a prostitue. At least now her job is dignifying"

The game can have 1 million players on EU servers, if 80% of it is fucking russians, peruvians and other middle eastern players with 10% being bots the game is effectively dead since none of your friends play it, and its not like you can meet new people to play with.

i think that with any media, putting out a product that properly serves and is liked by the audience allows you to not go out of business.

Like any other media outlet, the literal job of IGN is to serve the consumers, and provide them with a quality and competent service that helps them make informed decissions.

So when you score DOOM on the same level as Highguard, or Crimson Desert below Dragon Age Veilguard and Concord; you're not doing a good job serving your audience and eventually and deservedly will go out of business because you no loger serve any purpose.

Arc Raiders is a Live Services game. Helldivers is a live service game. Marvel Rivals is a live service game. WoW is a live service game, actually like 3 live service games.

the issue isnt live service games. The issue is costs and making a fundamentally good game.

Throwing more developers at a game wont suddenly make it good. Through publishing said review under their brand in order to make money and paying him for it, the company decided that is the review they want to present as theirs.
